My friend, Peanut and I, sat down with a leftover piece of paper to paint a rainbow.
(laughing) I used the word rainbow from the song, and then this piece of paper, you know how when you print something on a printer and it prints on one side, and then you can recycle the paper, or you can reuse it and do somethin with the back of it.

Peanut, my peanut friend and I.

I did that, did you see me?
- Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, you did.

- Okay.
- Paper is papel.

- Yeah, so there's our paper right there.
- They both have two letter Ps.
- That's right, it's very, very similar.
- Paper.
Papel.
- Oh, the only difference is the L instead of an R. - Exactly.
Paper.
Papel.

- Sounds cool.
- So the second word, was the word ghost.
Very appropriate for this month.
And there was actually a cartoon named ghost in Spanish.
And I don't know if you know it and recognize it, but fantasma.
- Ooh, fantasma.
- Fantasma, ghost, fantasma.
(ghost noise) - Fantasma.

- The third one is, thank you, third one is wire.

- Alambre.
- Alambre.
- But since we're talking about, you know, recycling things, I thought, well, let's just take this, this alambre, and I make it, I'm gonna make it a little character, a little character.
So it's a little wire.
A little wired is alambrito - Alambrito.
He became a little personnel, person there, and now, little wire, when you put -ito, - ito in Spanish, that will make it small.
For example, my name is Sarah.

- Let me tell you, - Oh, what about, - Yeah, let me tell you this, in my country, in Ecuador, we, we, I don't know why, but we, we call everything, I think, I guess we're trying to be loving, and part of being loving is calling things in, in, in like they were little.
So we always call each other with -ito.
So Papito, Mamita, casita, eh, [Foreign Language 14.24.07] you know, we call, we talk like that, in, in my country.
So it's very, very cultural, and there's other countries in South America that don't do it.

We say, - I like it.
- Yeah, (laughing) isn't it funny.
Isn't it funny, Wimito?
(laughing) - Ah, yeah.
- So those are your words for today.
- I love it.

(laughing) Oh, I wonder how we say little peanut?

Thanks Sarah.
Okay.
Friends.
Guess what?
Today, we have a very special edition with our friend Matt McGee, to lead us in today's Explore and Create.
Check this out.
Oh man, it's so cool.
Wait, you till see what he makes.
It's so awesome!
Oh, I think maybe just, boom, my head just exploded!
(upbeat music) - Hi, Winnie and friends.
My name is Matt McGee, and I'm a puppet and props maker.
I like to make things out of stuff that most people throw away.
Today, I'm gonna show you how you can make your very own robot out of nothing more than a peanut butter container, and other things you might have lying around the house right now.
For this project, you'll need an empty, cleaned out, plastic, peanut butter container, or any kind of plastic jar with a good lid.
Then I use some craft foam, which you can find at many hobby and craft stores.
Construction paper of different colors can come in handy, and then you'll need a paint mixing stick, or something hard to use for the handle on your robot.
Now, I like to collect bottle caps and things to use for all the little parts and pieces of my robot.
As well as, some plastic utensils, other things we'll need are: some scissors, a permanent marker, some thread, and then a hot glue gun, but be careful.
You might need some adult supervision with this cause it is dangerous.
Now we have all these things, let's get started.
First, we need to color the inside of our jar.
Now the quickest way to do this, is it take some color construction paper, and cut it down to fit inside.
- [Wimee] Ha ha.
- Next.
We'll take our craft foam, and using any color you want, cut a nice, long strip to go around the top of the jar and it will become the bottom jaw of our robots mouth.
- [Wimee] Blah, blah, blah.
- This next part is just a design.
You can make this bottom jaw have rivets or bolts, but I thought I had colored in, and make it look like that safety tape that goes around machines and other mechanical devices.
Next, take your thread.
Or like, I like to use my braided cord, and cut a length a little longer than the stick that you're gonna use.
Now tie it a couple of times at the end to make one really big knot.
Take that knot and glue it to one section of the lid at the knot on the bottom side.
Like, so.
Take some of that foam and cut two little rectangles, glue them together, so they create a thicker little rectangle, and glue it over that string.
This tab will be the hinge to make our robot talk.
Next, we'll take that jar, and carefully using the hot glue, glue our strip of foam all the way around it.
When that's done, we'll put a little hot glue over the seam of the top of the container and glue that tab from our lid to the body of the container.
And once it cools, now, you will have a talking, colorful, peanut butter jar.
Wait, what?
We gotta make it look more like a robot now.
So using our bottle caps and other nick knacks, we'll glue them on to make eyes.
I like to use two different sizes because it looks silly.
And then we can use some other caps, which I use for shoulders.
These are from milk jugs, whoda thought, right?
They become the shoulders.
And then you can take your plastic utensils that you saved up and you've carefully, using scissors, cut off the ends, and glue them to these shoulders to make a little arms.
Now, the rest of this is just fun designs, whatever you wanna do.
Next, take your paint stick or whatever stick you're planning to use, and glue it to the back of your jar.
This will be your handle and controller for your robot puppet.
Once the glue is solid, hold onto the bottom of the handle, and make a mark at the top of your hand.
Now using the back end of one of those plastic utensils, cut two rectangles of foam, and glue it to either side of one end of that plastic piece with tabs left at the bottom.
Now fold those tabs open, and glue it to the mark you just made on the handle.
This will now be the trigger to make your robot's mouth move.
To make it all work, take the other end of your string, and tie it around the middle of your trigger.
Not too tight or not too loose.
The trigger should stay perpendicular to the handle.
Once you feel it's in the right spot, carefully hot glue it into place.
Once it cools, it's ready for action.
When the trigger goes down, the lid goes up.
Now you could totally be done at this point.
Or if you're like me, you might wanna make it even more awesome.
So this is where the rest of those bottle caps come in handy.
You can make wheels, or what I'm gonna do is give him some feet.
But, all of this is completely optional.
It's up to you when it's done.
But when you're ready for it to be done, you'll have your very own talking robot.
So there you go.
That's how you make a robot out of nothing more than an empty peanut butter jar, and some other stuff you probably have lying around the house right now.
Because it's made out of a peanut butter jar, I call him PB bot.
I am PB bot.
B,b,b,b,b.
(upbeat music) (laughing) - That is so cool.
Oh man.
Oh man.
