Key Bridge Disaster: Reflect, Recover, Rebuild

Rescue Diving Team

Middle River Volunteer Fire and Rescue dive team responding to the Key Bridge disaster.

The Middle River Volunteer Fire and Rescue dive team was among many first responders to the Key Bridge disaster on March 26, 2024. The 100% volunteer force practices for emergencies like this, and it can be difficult and dangerous. They often work in water with low visibility and in situations where, like the Key Bridge collapse, they have no idea what hazards might be lurking under the surface.
