In September 1860, on the brink of Civil War, the steamship Lady Elgin collided with a schooner on Lake Michigan and sank. Hundreds died, including many of Milwaukee's Irish community. In this play written by Milwaukee theatre veterans Edward Morgan and John Kishline, a German reporter, an Irish patriot, a runaway slave, an idealistic sailor and a Milwaukee girl tell their life-changing accounts.
