This is game time on SDPB.
Here are your hosts, Jason Andera and Nate Wek All right.
We've reached semifinal week here on game time.
Andy one of the you know we always talk about it with basketball and volleyball.
That semifinal night always just has a different feel to it.
And with football we get it all in one week.
And so we get a little bit more time to decompress it.
Right.
I mean and semifinal semifinals just are really the the culmination of that last step to get to the it's that last, you know, game outdoors before you get to step in the dome.
And what a special moment not only for the team but the community to be able to make it to Vermillion and everybody can taste it.
They are so close.
That's what semifinal week is all about.
night.
All right.
Let's start with class nine B. You know wall continuing to look really good.
You know while they just have improved in him and gotten better each and every year especially defensively.
But a 59 eight win over Harriet Selby area really cemented that momentum that they're gaining throughout the season.
Dealing Keirstead had a huge game, getting a big defensive touchdown, and then he also caught six passes for 181 yards.
They are definitely flowing right now.
How many at Saint Mary's Saint Mary's.
They had a couple rushers go for 100 in this game.
Yeah.
For them to be in the quarters and have a couple of guys get that 100 yard mark.
I mean Thomas has been doing it all year.
But then Brady drew it showing that he can run from the quarterback position.
They keep showing more and more potential.
And then what do you like about Warner.
I like Mikkelson.
They're also their kicker.
Had a couple touchdown receptions in that game.
Yeah.
They've been relying so much on on Beckham cantaloupe.
It was nice to see them get a couple of touchdowns from Alec Mikkelson.
He also kicked a field goal and made six extra points.
So you got to like that out of your kicker to be able to get a dominant win a 51 to 6 win.
That was huge for them, especially coming off of last year's loss in the quarters to Howard.
That tasted even sweeter for them.
And then you have Avon with a shutout win as well.
Yeah.
And they're just getting loads and loads of yards through the run.
They just dominate the time of possession all season long.
Another huge day.
Grayson Retzlaff rushed for 150 yards and four touchdowns.
And we thought maybe that would be a little bit of an issue against Tulare.
But they just showed another side and they have really thrown their hat as an elite team in Nine Bees.
So we've got four what I would consider elite teams I think so too.
And you know, and real quick on Avon at the beginning of the year, we were kind of questioning, you know, what is this Avon team going to going to look like.
And it was sort of that Saint Mary's game where they went to Dell Rapids.
They played Saint Mary's where it went right down to the wire.
One of the one of the best games of the year that we saw in high school football this year, and that it was kind of that moment where like, okay, we got to take this Avon team seriously, and now they're also backing it up in the playoffs, too, and putting up some impressive performances.
And they look like a dangerous.
And I think they've played the toughest schedule of anybody in nine be you know they've had that game against Saint Mary's.
They had that game against Freeman.
And that could matter.
Coming up this Friday night.
All right.
So we're going to get Avon going to wall.
And then we're also going to get Warner and Dell Rapids to take on Saint Mary's.
What do you like with those two two super high scoring teams.
They've done it all year long.
You know, over 45 points per game for each of these teams.
But Avon getting 85% of their yards this season running the football.
And they're also doing great stopping the run.
They have only allowed 52.8 yards per game and they've been winning the turnover battle.
So they're doing all the right things to possess the ball, to not turn it over.
And they're just playing smart ball right now.
We're wall on the other hand you know they're susceptible to pass.
Tanner Vollmer has had a tremendous year.
He's accounted for over 2500 total offense yards this year between his rushing and his passing.
He's been huge on Keirstead is really moving up and being a weapon for them.
And shooter Frederick, another receiver that's really stepped up.
But defensively, that's where I really liked the improvements that was made throughout the year.
And they get the home home field advantage in this game and that means a lot.
Avon's got a trek to head out west.
Yeah, it is a long drive from Avon out to wall.
Luckily you take interstate.
Yeah, yeah, I for quite a bit.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But you know Warner at Saint Mary's.
Now, switching gears to this one, you know, where do we go from here?
Warner's been kind of that team the last few years.
That's been right on that doorstep a little bit.
Just, you know, hasn't quite been able to get back to the dome.
And then you're taking on, you know, the defending champions to try to get to the dome as well.
Hey, Warner relies on a lot of youth to get things done.
But but defensively they've had a couple of really solid players.
Noah Baker, one of those guys who's really stood up, and then Alec Mikkelson, as we mentioned earlier, he's had a huge part just as a senior, having a good season here.
But back in cantaloupe they're freshman leading their team in rushing and receiving.
They do rely a lot on him and another team that really makes hay off their turnovers plus 13 in the turnovers this year.
And then you got Saint Mary's.
They want a lot of games in a row here.
22 in a row of going back to to last year.
You know, they've they've had some games this year that maybe haven't been as dominating for them.
They've they've had some games that have gotten pretty tight at times but have still found ways to win.
What do you like with Sam.
You know they came in as favorites this year.
They've had some games where they've, you know, we've question that a little bit.
And really throughout the year you look at it, the growth that they've had, they've gotten better at tackling their deep.
They've been averaging over ten yards per carry, 23 yards per reception.
They're a team that can move it offensively.
And in the last five weeks, if you just look at their defense in last five weeks, you're giving up three points per game.
So again I see the improvement, you know, from this this team after that Elkton game that was close.
And after that Avon game that was close.
They've really shown improvement and they're going to need every bit of that against Warner on Friday night.
All right.
So nine be we got two great matchups for that that are that are locked in and set here for Friday.
And then nine at a this one.
We've got to take a little bit of time to talk about.
Had a couple upsets that happened in this one even though you know the one was a you know, one of them was a was a five.
But I mean still we got to talk about this one.
Yeah.
The road teams getting it done.
Look at Kimball White Lake going over 400 yards of total offense and just shutting down that Timberlake offense.
That was so good at throwing the football.
They made them hurry and get rid of the ball quick quicker than they wanted to.
And another big week for Kimball White.
Like you got to praise the schedule that they've played because they played a lot tougher schedule than Timberlake.
And it really showed on the field.
They shut them out.
And then the other, you know, the other road team that we saw get the win here.
It was Bennett County.
Yeah.
Sully Buttes in a thrilling fashion.
Yeah.
Sully Buttes opened the game with a 22 eight lead.
And they held it all the way through the fourth quarter.
And all of a sudden, Bennett County comes back and the offense was electric.
And and we look at Russell Neal over 1000 yards receiving this year.
But he really wasn't the key.
They spread it out and Maddox Risi has had a tremendous year.
He found Hayden for a touchdown.
He found plenty of other guys messed up.
Had a big score for them.
So that's a little scary when you see a team that has so many different weapons and a guy like Russell O'Neil, who's really been dominating.
So you're going to get Kimball, White Lake versus Bennett County, eight seed, five seed winner goes to the dome.
Yeah.
And this is interesting because you know, some people look at half of this bracket and say oh man we've got Freeman on one side.
We got Castlewood.
We got even Centerville.
We've got Howard.
We got all these perennial teams that have been doing so well on the other side.
You know, we've come up with Kimball, White Lake and Bennett County, two teams that haven't sniffed the dome in a long time.
So I just want to give them a little credit.
Like that side of the bracket still has some really good teams, and this game will be very interesting.
Kimball White Lake is a team that, like I said, played a really tough schedule in Bennett County.
I think they throw the ball as well as anybody in this class.
And if they can get the ball off, if they watched last week and saw what Kimball White Lake did to that passing offense of Timberlake and make some adjustments, you know, they could be in this game.
Well, then on the other side, you had Freeman that took down Howard.
You had Castlewood as well get a big time win.
You know, Howard and R Freeman and Cassell would have just looked like just two top notch, top tier teams.
And we get to see those two teams go at it this week in the semifinal.
I mean, there's a lot of people across the state saying this is the championship game.
You know, that's a little bit disrespectful to the other side of the class.
But they have been the top two teams all season long according to the media polls.
And, you know, just the way they've played, the way they've looked.
Castlewood, of course, has Camden Kessler, who we've talked about as offensive numbers.
But I want to talk about this defense a little bit, leading the team in tackles, 34 tackles for loss on the season for Gammon, Kessler.
He has been a one man wrecking crew.
And then to have so many different guys step up, especially that junior class.
We've talked about it before on the show, but when those sophomores became juniors and they were able to play the way they are, that made them a contender.
So I love Castlewood here, but Freeman has been the standard, and Team Kerrigan has stepped up and had a tremendous year throwing for 1600 yards.
And that's mostly half a game to run.
They don't usually play four games and 30 touchdowns.
I mean, are you kidding me?
32?
That's incredibly impressive, especially at the nine man level where you see teams that try to use the space on the field and run a little bit more, you know, to have to, you know, for Kerrigan to have this type of a year, it really puts a stamp on it that, yeah, we are Freeman.
We can go by ourselves this year.
Yeah.
You know, be just as good as we were a year ago.
And we're going to prove it to you.
It just has felt like that with Freeman all year.
Yeah it does.
And again, the Waldner Walter and and cheddar have been great options.
But defensively they've given up six points over the last four games.
So you know Castlewood hasn't seen any team like Freeman.
And Freeman hasn't seen a team like Castle.
This is going to be a classic matchup.
All right nine double A. Let's talk about that a little bit Britain Hecla.
They're going on to the semifinals.
And that was in question two.
This was the closest game of any quarterfinal matchup Britain had close at home Sioux Falls Lutheran came in.
And Sioux Falls Lutheran scored late in the game to take the lead.
And Briton Hecla had the guts to go down the field and get a big touchdown.
With 50s left to win the game.
Nathan Folkman excuse me, 22 seconds left in the game took the lead and that was huge for Britain.
Hecla to get that win because in Sioux Falls and was a really good team.
So it's a really impressive win for Britain.
Hecla let's talk about parks.
And we got to talk about them.
What a tremendous year they have had in this class.
Yeah.
And Barnum has been kind of a rival but they've been it's been a one sided rivalry lately because Berkson is playing so well.
And Bryson Bruning or Bryce Bruning excuse me, has had such a good year at quarterback and he's got such a, like a telepathic, you know, just sense of when Mason Jervis and when to get him the ball.
Those two have played so well together over the last couple of years.
I just, I just we probably, talked enough about parks in this year and how good they've been.
They haven't had a close game all year long.
And then we got to talk about, you know, Platt getting a little bit here to there.
On to the semifinals.
Had a one at a one score win here in the quarters.
What do we like about Platt getting us.
Because we have talked about them.
It seems like every week we're talking about Platt getting just a little bit more just because they've just been a team that, you know, rightfully so, has deserved, you know, extra recognition.
Yeah.
Tied in the fourth quarter Landon Kizer you know he's been the MVP of that team.
He ran in a score to put them up by eight.
But it took a few big defensive stops two against Garretson to steal that thing.
And Platt get us.
You know it's like some teams that maybe haven't been playing their best over the last few weeks.
They've had close games here the last three weeks in a row.
So but they keep winning.
And that's a great sign for this young team.
Britton Hecla going to Parkeston.
And then you're going to have Platt Gettys going to Hamlin to two really good semifinal matchups for good teams.
I mean, you know, you're going to look at the home teams here.
You know Parkeston obviously such a strong unit has been just so, so well-versed throughout the whole year.
And then you got Hamlin on, you know, on the other side too.
Hamlin struggled right away out the gate this year.
And it kind of dropped or ooh, what's going on with Hamlin?
And then it's been all success for him and realized, hey, they played Gasaway there a little better than we thought.
But let's go back to that.
Britton heckler Parks and Game I think Gage Chiedozie on on the production side really leads a strong line.
And I want to talk about Graham fastness of Britton Hecla, one of the best linemen in the state for Britton Hecla.
So I think you know it's going to be it's going to be in the trenches for those guys.
We know the skill guys we've talked about.
You know Jace Ryan and Bennett Soother from Britton Hecla and then Mason Jurich and Bryce Bruning on the other side.
But really the line play to me, I think these are the best tests for each other that they've seen all season long up front.
They're having to get his hands on real quick.
And then Hamlin's got a team.
You know, that is just running the football efficiently.
And we've seen you know Boden Stevenson take that another a next step to become one of the best quarterbacks in nine man football.
But having 2000 yard rushers in the backfield, that's going to be hands full time for Platte get.
As they have no room to start slow.
They have to start quickly in this game.
All right.
Well those all those are all three nine man classes.
Before we get to the 11 man's I want to tell you about a new program that will be premiering on SBB here the week of state football.
called Dome Sweet Dome, November 14th.
It's going to air at 6 p.m.
central time.
So prior to the 11 triple A game and then right when the 11 triple AA game is done, the program is going to run again.
It kind of talks about some of the, some of the good stuff with, the history of the Dakota Dome.
talk about the history of the high school playoff system, the wives and the family was, you know, everybody's kind of talks about the judge ruling and some of that.
But the licensee family, a Gorman family, had a big role in that.
Plus, we talk about Caden Ellingson.
He is senior for USD, actually played in the dome a few different times throughout his football career with youth, high school and college.
Looking forward to that.
That's going to be great.
A lot of work put in by SDB and, I can't wait to see how that turns out.
All right, well, we got four more classes to go here.
JND 11 B let's talk about this one real quick.
Where do you want to start with this one could be the biggest mystery last week I thought we had some potential for upsets.
And you know the home teams did what they were supposed to do.
Winner got the big win EPG got their offense flowing through birdie Van Roekel and Clark Lake you know got an early 22 eight lead and kind of sat on it with good defense.
And then Saint Thomas More we had a question about over the last couple of weeks they haven't looked as strong as they have, but they got huge performances from, of course, their quarterback.
And Jeremie Williams got a 37 yard touchdown pass.
Zander's answer had a big day.
And they found a way to beat a good Sioux Valley team.
So we still have a lot of questions about all four of these teams.
But I think all four of these teams could make a threat for, taking the whole thing here.
Well, you got Elk Point, Jefferson, right?
Okay.
They've been really good the last few years.
Just a very well coached team.
You've got a winner that has this football legacy, the tradition in the town.
So you got those two teams kind of going at it.
I mean, just with that matchup alone.
I mean, I'm excited about those guys, about the other one have had a little history in just in this decade.
Right, of playing each other for either a dome appearance or in the dome, you know, three times they've met.
This will be the fourth matchup in just this decade where they're playing either a semifinal match up or, or a championship matchup, but, similar teams where sometimes offensively you don't know what you're going to get.
But defensively, you know, these two teams are going to bring it big time.
And Elk Point Jefferson I feel like their line has really done a great job.
And even though they've a couple younger guys in that line, I think they have been the the heartbeat in a signature of that team and winner of course the same thing defensively they have just been monsters this year.
You know, and without point Jefferson, you know with how good their offensive line has been.
You know winners had some phenomenal offensive lines over the years too is Elk Point Jefferson kind of that new like hub of 11 B offensive lines.
If you take they're the new winner maybe I don't know.
But winner will have something to say about that.
And they will they might want to keep that title for another year.
But this game really could.
I mean, it really could go either way.
Winners only lost to Saint Thomas Moore and EPA, of course, have played a perfect season.
But you look at their play on the field, it hasn't always been perfect.
So, it could be.
It could be a really interesting semifinal matchup.
part.
Yeah.
And then on the other side of it too, you've got Clark Willow Lake defensively they're having a great year really limiting you know opposing offenses and things like that.
And then you got Saint Thomas Moore who I think has been phenomenal this year, especially with what the you know, they've obviously have figured some things out about their team this year.
But I feel like they've grown this season, grown through some of these changes.
They've learned about, you know, as we've learned about them, I think they've learned about themselves a little bit here, too.
And I think it has made Saint Thomas more better here down the stretch.
Yeah.
Saint Thomas More getting a great regular season from Noah Wild who's you know over 2000 yards passing now.
And just getting great contributions from across the team.
And even though they've had some injury issues you feel like they've found a way to win, especially these last couple weeks.
Both teams have played Mobridge Pollock and Sioux Valley and Clark Will Lake.
You know, they are always a question mark because their last five games have all been within two scores.
And but they're undefeated, but they're undefeated.
So again, a lot of these teams not playing like super well but winning games.
All right.
So we got two great matchups there.
And 11 B. Again we don't know what way it's going to go.
It's going to be exciting.
It's going to be exciting 11 A Sioux Falls Christian.
Let's just start with them.
We talked about some great defenses on the other side of when we were talking about 11 B, but 11 a Sioux Falls Christian.
What a defense.
They've had all the defense.
I mean, we'll talk more about what it was in the matchup with those that they're going to have.
But you know Cooper Strand he's been showing strides here throwing the football.
And Trey Meehan has been dominating on the ground.
Dude Prince on both sides of the ball.
This has been a complete team all season long.
And the one thing with Sioux Falls Christian two that I've noticed, you know, they they'll have some games where they get up by a lot of points.
And then the second half they coast.
But there are other players that are coming in and some of these second halves that are getting reps, you know, and so they're using the second half as a learning experience to get some of their other players that are getting some playing time to get them playing time.
I think they have 25 guys.
I counted on their stat sheet who have a at least one tackles for loss.
So defensively the depth is definitely there for two falls Christian.
All right.
And then let's just you know let's talk about their their matchup because they're going to go against Dell Rapids Dell Rapids lost to canton in the regular season.
They had a late interception to beat canton this past week.
So they move on to the semifinals to take on the Sioux Falls Christian I mean that game I was at that game.
Dells in Canton were within three yards of each other in total offense.
In that game.
It was about as even as it could be.
But the turnovers or what ended up costing Canton and Dell Rapids took advantage, getting a big interception at the end of the game to seal the game for them.
And that's what Dell's will do.
And that's what they want to do with Sioux Falls Christian in this matchup.
That was the closest game Sioux Falls Christian said all season long was the 2815 win over Dell Rapids.
And Dell Rapids scared them a little bit.
So second time around, Ken Dell's Take That next step.
Can Sioux Falls Christian figure out what they did wrong and put a little more pad between them?
I mean, Sioux Falls Christian, definitely the team to beat here.
But, you know, Dell Rapids, you know, they've got some definite players and they want to slow this game down, you know, and throughout the season, you know, Sioux Falls Christian has kind of been the unanimous number one with a lot of the the polls and things like that with 11 A but then you get below that and it was almost like you had 11 and you know, you have like your eight team that was, you know, you know, your eight team that was Sioux Falls Christian.
And then you just go just below it and you had your Lennox West Central.
Yeah, that was in that.
And we get to see that in the semis.
Well this will be a fantastic matchup between Lennox and West Central.
We know we see this all season long Lennox gets better and better as the season goes on.
They did lose to West Central head to head in the regular season 2412 back on October 2nd.
But this Lennox team is getting better and you saw it last week, the last two weeks against Madison, just the way they dominated this the the offensive side of the ball.
And they're playing better defensively as well.
So a lot of stars in this game.
But West Central you know they have a quarterback this year.
And Beckett Iverson he has been phenomenal.
And this is a West Central team that is past first.
And it's hard to hard to say.
It's hard to even say when was the best time.
You can say that about West.
Yeah.
But defensively you got to talk about their defense to Elliot DeYoung and Tanner Wagner have been phenomenal on the defensive side.
So love what West Central brings to the table.
Lennox is really trying to a balanced attack to try to find a way to beat them.
But they're going to have to step up on defense and find a way to stop Beckett.
Iverson.
Culture is important in football.
It is 11.
Let's just start with pure, real quick, pure.
I mean, it has just been an absolute force in this class all season, very similar to the conversations we had with Sioux Falls Christian 11 a you got the same thing here with pier and 11 double A they're going to take on Sturgis.
Yeah.
You know, Sturgis picking up a road win last week.
So you know what.
Let's just start there with that.
Yeah.
So Pier pier is you know, one of only a couple of teams in the 11 history that have averaged 50 points per game.
They are having a phenomenal year.
Jaron Diehl, you look at his numbers, his percentage is ridiculous as completion percentage.
And again, this guy hasn't been playing full games in his past for over 2400 yards.
So we know we know what pier brings.
And so we'll see how healthy they are.
Bringing everybody back to the table.
They need that to beat Sturgis.
Sturgis on the other hand, you know, started off the season one and three and now have won six straight.
They never beat ever found a way to beat them on the road.
They they feel like they've flipped the page here.
And Zul Erian he is a monster.
So he I would ride that guy and try to control this game as much as you can if you're Sturgis.
But again, Sturgis has not had a lot of success against here.
Well, it was 42 to 6 correct on in the season opener.
Yeah.
With Sturgis and Pier I will say that was a long it was a long time ago football years right.
So I you know I think there's a lot of things that Sturgis is going to look at in that game and say what went wrong for us.
Where can we improve on, you know, we might see something a little bit different from Sturgis.
All right.
Then on the other side you got the arrows and you got the bucks that are still alive as well.
Watertown going to Yankton this week.
Watertown went to Yankton back in September, late September and got a not only a win but a signature win, 4214.
But this Yankton team has been so different in the last few weeks.
I feel like the confidence from Jack Kodaira has been palpable.
He is really getting this offense moving.
He's getting everybody involved in the offense.
This Yankton team had been Jekyll and Hyde a lot of the season, and now the last four weeks, it feels like, oh, no, they're they're pushing the accelerator and they are driving with the wind behind their back.
So I think it's going to be a different scenario than last time I talked to both coaches and, you know, talked about the keys to the game.
And they both pointed to up front is going to be the key to this game.
And who dictates the physicality in this game.
And I agree I think you got to win upfront and you got you got a D-1 guys on Watertown.
You read Hunter Peterson and you got, you know Conway on the other side.
You get some big time linemen in this game who are going to dictate the flow of this game.
I love it when coaches say it's all starts up front.
That's just the meat and potatoes of football.
It really is.
Yankton wants to throw more.
Watertown wants to run more.
But really you need that line play for both those.
All right I mean you got 11 triple A. Let's go through it.
You've got Lincoln, you got Harrisburg.
You got you know you got Brandon Valley.
And you also got Jefferson.
Another really good program this season.
Yeah.
You know, what do we where do we want to start here with 11.
Well let's talk about Lincoln and the rebound that they've made after those early season losses.
And big week last week where Brody Schaefer throws for another 300 yards.
And he was you know he's nursing.
You know he's been in the walking boot part of the week.
And then he goes out on the weekend and and just kills it with 300 yards and five touchdowns.
So love what Lincoln's been doing Harrisburg got a big win last week against a Chase Hermanson Lewis O'Gorman team.
So take it with a grain of salt but still a huge confidence boost to see what they did.
David Doe now has run for 400 yards in the last two weeks.
And so the running game is a serious serious thing for Harrisburg Brandon Valley.
You know they had a backup quarterback and they had a sophomore quarterback in and still got a dominant win over Roosevelt last week.
And then Jefferson was a slow start last week.
But Martin Johnson had a big receiving touchdown, a kick return touchdown and a defensive touchdown.
That really helped this Jefferson team.
And, you know, for the first time this year, they had to wake up a little bit.
But I think they're woken up and they'll have a rematch against Harrisburg who played back in the first week of the season.
And that game, even though Jefferson won 4320, it was much closer than that score appears.
I think these two are a little more even than people will give Harrisburg credit for.
Well, now you talk about Harrisburg, too, with the with just the way that they're running attacks, kind of, you know, really come on here recently.
You know, how does Jefferson you know, a team that's just been so sound defensively.
How do they you know, how do they handle a rushing attack to that level.
Because it's not like the well we're not seeing like it's not going to be like the 350 yards passing that Harrisburg is going to throw it.
Right.
We talk about this Jefferson offense.
That already is the sixth highest scoring team in 11 triple A history.
And they still have potentially two games to go.
But it's the defense I think that's won them games holding opponents to 13 points per game.
And they're going to be ready for this challenge of David Doe in this huge offensive line for Harrisburg.
And you know I think it's the other side.
I think Johnny Young is going to have to make him pay.
For for playing too many people in the box.
And then you get Brandon Valley at Lincoln.
This is going to be another you know, these these two teams just met three weeks ago.
Right.
And you know, what are you going to like about this matchup here with everything on the line Lincoln won the turnover battle.
They were a little more physical in that game with Brandon Valley than Brandon Valley's seen and got the win.
So they get home field advantage for this where they would have had to be on the road otherwise.
But this team, you know, they run for 230 yards a game.
I think they've got to get back to that without turning the football over.
And they can be a huge threat against this Lincoln team who's been on a roll.
You know, they've scored at least five touchdowns in seven straight games.
This is an offensive super power.
And of course run by the MVP of the state Brody Shafer.
And he is the team for Lincoln.
And despite a couple of injuries, running back and receiver, they've got Brody Shafer.
And that's, seems to be the key.
Yeah.
He seems to play his best ball this time of year.
He's been he's been pretty dang good.
You know, he's thrown for 2200 yards.
He's run for 600 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Yeah.
He's a huge part of this equation.
All right.
And then as we mentioned at the top of the show, South Dakota Public Broadcasting will once again be airing and streaming the All Nations Football Conference championships.
That'll be taking place as well this Friday from the Dakota Dome in Vermillion.
You know, let's start with nine a Winnebago, Todd County, Winnebago got a big win last week, and Todd County took down a hot Lakota tech team and, really had a dominant win.
So that was huge for them.
Both these teams, it could go either way.
They played in the regular season.
It was 2826.
Todd County stopped a two point conversion with under a minute left in the game to seal that game.
I hope we get as good of entertainment on Friday night, because these two teams are the best teams in nine A, and they are very equal, both, you know, raiding Decorah for Winnebago and being Eagle yellow Eagle for Todd County, two of the best offensive playmakers in the state.
All right.
And then you got white River against Dupree.
Tarquini another one during the season.
You know the closest game for either one of these teams was against each other.
It was 28 to 8.
Dupree to Kinney got the win on that game against white River.
But white River has been here and done that.
You know, they have been to the dome last year.
I think they're going to learn from that.
And to prove to Kenny, you know, obviously new to all nations, we'll see if that's a factor in this game at all.
But they are the favorites coming into this matchup.
Yeah.
It's just crazy to think you know we got you know I do love this time of year because I mean along with all the semifinals you get to all Nations Football Conference championships.
And then we quickly will turn the page next week to seven state championships as well under the USA umbrella and then volleyball and then boom, we're into the winter sports.
That's amazing how fast it goes.
Right?
But yeah, next week we're going to be back.
We'll preview the dome with all seven of the high school football championships.
We're looking forward to it.
We'll see what happens this Friday.
He's Jason and I'm next week.
Another week of game time here in SDB.
