- Oh hi.
- Did you hear that mysterious knock at the door?
(suspenseful music) - What?
- I forgot to return to my book to the library!
(suspenseful music) - That's not my twin, that's my reflection in the mirror!
(suspenseful music) No, no, no, no guys, guys, today's show is about soap not soat.
(suspenseful music) Oh, oh no.
That reminds me.
We're out of soap (suspenseful music) (show theme song) (humming) - Hi friends.
I'm glad you're here.
Well, let's get rolling.
Got some questions for my friends.
First, We're gonna go to Jim.
Jim's on the show with us running the show - Hi Wimee!
- If bought soap, any soap at all, what would you want it to smell like?
- You know, that's a really interesting question because initially I'd say like, okay, well, you know I love chocolate.
I love the smell of chocolate, but then I'm going, that might be weird if you like wash your hands and then they smell like chocolate.
Right?
I don't know that would be ideal, but, or you know, if it was April fools or something it might be fun to have a soap that smells like garbage or something where it smell like dirty.
I don't know.
I think I would like soap that doesn't smell like anything.
It just smells like soap It would concerning if it were anything else.
- I think if it was chocolate, I might want to eat my hands.
- I know it would be confusing first maybe, but then its like maybe not such a good idea.
So yeah, I think soap that smells like soap is good for my final answer - Soap that smells like soap (chuckles) All right, all right Same question for Nicole If you could buy a soap that could smell like anything what would it smell like?
- It would probably smell like maybe mint or lavender.
- Oh yeah.
Those both are very refreshing.
wonderful smells.
Yeah.
What if there's a mint lavender soap that would be like then the perfect one.
Right?
We should invent this.
We should get going.
Maybe it already is out there.
I don't know.
Thanks Nicole.
We'll see you later on the show.
Haha friends!
Can you share with me something that you wash?
Could be anything at all!
Think of any possibility.
For example, wash, wash, wash your car wash it till it cleans.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily Now it's nice and clean.
Oh yeah.
Washing a car.
Let's go back to Jim.
Hey Jim, what is something you wash?
- I polish my guitars to make them shine.
- Oh, wash, wash, wash your guitar.
Wash it till it cleans.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily Now it's nice and clean.
And Nicole what's another example of something that someone washes.
- Somebody could wash a car.
- Yeah.
Ooh, let's do it.
Wash, wash, wash your car.
Wash it till it cleans.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily Now it's nice and clean.
Oh you can start like a whole car wash assembly line and have all the cars come through The dishes!
Wash, wash, wash your dishes Wash them till they clean.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily Now they're nice and clean.
What about a dog?
Wash, wash, wash your dog Wash it till its clean.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily Now it's nice and clean.
I could wash my desk.
I could wash the wall.
Sometimes I gotta wash the wall and make sure that the wall is clean too.
Well friends.
Let's go find out what Moby's gonna tell us today.
- I was just learning about soap, huh?
It's pretty cool.
Yeah.
Soaps and detergents.
They help keep our skin, our hair, our clothes, our dishes our feathers and other things clean.
Yeah.
Water by itself can get things wet but it doesn't make things clean, no.
But when you mix water with soap, the soap attaches itself to the dirt, oil, the grease, you know?
Yeah.
And then when you rinse, it all gets washed away.
Soap to the rescue!
(upbeat music) - Ah, I can just see the grime, the dirt just (whooshing sound) holding onto the soap, like no!
Hey friends.
It's time for today's 1, 2, 3 sentence story.
Let's write a story.
It's what we always do, we love writing stories.
In the first sentence, I set the scene In the second sentence, there is a problem, but don't worry friends in the third sentence, there is a solution.
So share with us a noun person place or thing.
I'll then come up with something to set the scene in the first sentence there will be a problem to solve using a word from you friends at home or wherever you are.
And in the third sentence, you know what I'm saying?
So let's go to Nicole though for the very first word.
Very first word at all Nicole.
Any word at all!
What are you thinking?
- The first word could be mirror.
- Mirror, got it!
Thanks for the word, mirror.
Okay.
Okay.
I woke up this morning and looked in the mirror and said today will be a fantastic day.
Yeah.
That's a good way to start the day.
Looking in the mirror saying to myself it's gonna be a good day but oh no!
There comes the problem Friends share with, Ooh bathtub.
Hahaha.
Okay.
I got it.
Like I know just what to say.
I woke up this morning, looked in the mirror and said to myself, it's going to be a fantastic day.
It was bath day though.
And I simply did not want to take a bath.
Yeah.
So that's my problem is it's bath day but I don't wanna take a bath, but you know I should, it depend, you know, maybe I'm just taking the wrong approach to this whole thing.
But the problem today, this is what I'm feeling today.
No bath today.
How do I solve this problem?
I gotta get clean whipped cream, hahaha!
All right Jessica!
Perfect.
Okay.
Whipped cream will be the solution.
Okay, here we go.
I woke up this morning, looked in the mirror and said to myself, it's gonna be a fantastic day.
It was bath day though.
And I just did not want to take a bath.
So I got out some whipped cream, covered myself, clean and went on my way.
(chuckles) I don't know if that solves the problem.
Am I clean friends?
Did it work?
Can I take a bath using whipped cream?
Maybe we should do a survey.
Is it okay to clean yourself up with whipped cream?
I don't know if I technically solved today's problem.
I think I created a new problem.
Great job women's board.
We'll check back with you later to see.
Oh, I think I'll need a bath after the whipped cream covering.
Maybe I got the middle and the end backwards.
Maybe I had the problem of getting covered with whipped cream and the solution was to take a bath.
I might need to revise that one friends.
Or I think I'm onto something whipped cream clean.
I caught myself whip cream clean today.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Friends.
Let's go see what the word soap is translated to in a few different languages - In Spanish, Soap is jabon jabon.
- In French soap is savon savon.
- In American sign language, Soap Is signed Soap (signs soap) soap (signs soap).
- In Swahili, Soap is sabuni Sabuni - In German, Soap is Seife Seife - Soap in Haitian Creole is Savon Savon - All right friends.
Guess what?
We have a very special edition of today's power up with miss Jessica.
(Jessica sings song) - That's my new favorite song.
(singing song) How does she do that?
That's amazing.
I'm gonna ask Jim.
Hey Jim, I'm gonna put you on the spot.
Can you, can you sing that?
Did you catch it?
- Yeah, I've got it.
It's a new one.
I'm never gonna get rid of it.
(sings song) It's awesome.
- It's so good it's so cool.
I love the way that beat goes.
- I know and you can sing to yourself and you know yep I've been washing my hands long enough they're clean!
It's brilliant.
Miss Jessica's brilliant.
- Oh man.
I know.
So great.
Miss Jessica.
(sings song) (chuckles) By brain cant keep up with that so fast.
That's so fun.
(hums song) I'm gonna keep practicing though.
Okay friends.
It is time to see what jokes Siblee's got today.
- What do you call a mouse that uses soap?
- I don't know.
What do you call a mouse that uses soap?
Squeaky clean!
(chuckles) (sings song) - Was that close Jim?
- No it's first you Scrubba.
Then you Rubba So it's (sings song) Scrub then rub.
- Scrub then rub, got it.
Thanks Jim!
Thanks Miss Jessica!
Okay Friends, take a deep breath.
Breathe in.
Hold it.
Let it out.
It's time for today's slowing down.
(soft music) Breathe in hold and let it out.
Guess what, today we have got a mystery moment.
(suspenseful music) (sings) (suspenseful music) And that's today's Mystery moment!
Let's keep things moving along friends.
It's time for Kid Chat.
- Hi Abigail!
- Hi.
- Whoa.
I love what you're wearing.
Will you first tell me about what you're wearing.
- I'm wearing an apron and a chef's hat.
- Ha.
That's awesome.
And you love to bake, right?
- Yes.
- Oh, what are some of your favorite things to bake?
- Cupcakes, brownies and cake.
- Ooh, you're talking my language.
Yeah.
So chocolate vanilla, strawberry.
What are we talking here?
- Vanilla.
- Oh, I see, I see, I see Okay, so now do you get fancy with the frosting or keep it simple?
- I keep it simple.
- Nice, nice.
That sometimes, sometimes things get too crazy right?
But not that you can't go wrong with a good recipe and a good, simple frosting.
All right.
So you did some writing recently about baking, right?
Tell us about the writing, the essay that you wrote.
- Well, it was about baking because I like to bake and some of my favorite things to bake or it, well my first favorite thing to bake is cupcakes and then it's cake and then it's brownies.
- Gotcha.
Gotcha.
So you wrote about that and I, I I have a question based on what you said if cupcakes and brownies and cake all squared off in a competition to play basketball, who would win?
- I don't know.
- Oh, ha I think the cupcakes, cause they'd be like fast and nimble and the cake would be like, and the brownies too would be like the cupcakes would run circles around them - And the cake I don't really think can fit through the basket.
- Oh that would definitely cause some challenges.
Yeah.
This could be like a creative, like a non no, no wait you wrote non-fiction right?
True story about baking experiences.
Now this is like maybe a fiction story or a poem.
Okay.
So thanks so much for hanging out.
And do you have any advice before you go any advice for friends who are learning about baking?
- Well, baking is kind of like math and reading but it's not actually like writing and bake, and reading.
So like you're reading the recipe and you're doing the math in, in the measuring.
- Totally the real world application of how reading helps figure out the recipe.
Math helps figure out the numbers because if you had to put like half a teaspoon, say of vanilla and you accidentally put in half a gallon, of vanilla but you might be like, yay.
Half a gallon that is in the recipe.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But you wanna try to get those things as close to accurate as possible, right?
Yeah.
Cool.
Well Abigail, thank you so much for being on today's kid chat!
All right friends, it is time to check in with the women's board and see what's going on.
Women's board, Have you added any updates to what you're creating?
Look at all that scrub-a-dubbing, rubbin, scrubbin, d-d-d-dubbin.
Oh, even the dogs getting clean?
Yep.
We had that earlier.
The song soap.
Oh my goodness.
I think maybe we need Abigail to help with the measurements because there's too much soap in there.
There's a bunny getting clean too.
Thanks women's board!
Great job.
Well guess what friends?
We are gonna play a game.
It's called, Make a rhyme.
Okie doke, ready Jim?
Ready Nicole?
- Ready!
- All right, any word at all I'll start with soap.
- Ooh, rope.
- Nice.
That rhymes - Cup - Pup.
- What about, what about book?
- Let me take a look.
See if I can find a rhyme.
Yes.
Got it.
Look, look nice.
Ooh, dishes.
Okay.
Jim, take the word dishes and find rhyme.
- Fishes.
- Hey, is fishes plural for more than one fish?
- Maybe fish, fishes.
I have to, you know, you're right.
I'm gonna go feed the fish.
- Yeah.
- All right.
How about wishes?
- Wishes - Women.
You calling me on that one?
Wishes instead of fishes.
Nicole, how about rhyme for lamp?
- what about ramp.
- Ooh.
I like it.
- Let's go with Let's go with key.
- Key.
Let me see if I can find a rhyme for key.
Ah, I did it twice.
- You're good at those.
You're really good at those Wimee.
I'm impressed.
Always.
- Okay.
Jim, find a rhyme for rhinoceros.
- Oooh, rhinoceros Mmmm Preposterous kinda sort of maybe.
- I think that counts.
Oh man.
I was trying to be silly.
And then you were, my idea was - Preposterous.
- Preposterous.
- Are we getting this right Nicole?
- You know we should just end the game right now probably.
- Okay.
Thanks for playing.
Make a wrap.
That's a tricky word for me to say.
Okay friends.
We've been having a lot of fun.
It's now time for Find it Fast.
Find something that starts with S Find something clean and find something that smells good.
What could you find?
Maybe a stamp starts with S maybe a snake, maybe a snowball.
What you got Jim?
- Well, you know, Scribble Jim starts with an S and I'm pretty clean cause I took a quick shower and I smell pretty good - You smell good?
- All Right - I can't smell through the cameras here - Take my word - I trust you.
Cool All right.
What else might be something that starts S something clean.
We talked about things we can clean the dog, the dishes.
Nicole What have you found?
- I have this Which it starts with S - Yep - It helps clean your cuts - Oh yeah.
- It is - Smell - It smells good.
- You got the trilogy.
Ding, ding, ding ding.
It keeps thing clean It smells good.
Sunflowers.
Hmm.
Sunflowers are amazing.
They start with S. They're clean.
Well or some, I guess they're clean unless they fell in the mud.
Ooh Shorts shorts fit all three.
When they come outta the washing machine, the shorts out of the washing machine smell good and are clean.
Now what smells good.
Fresh baked apple pie smells good.
Pie smells good Ooh.
Is there a type of pie that starts with S I don't know.
I don't know if pies, I don't consider pies.
I guess the fruit would be washed clean to make a fruit pie.
Strawberry.
Got it.
Strawberry pie.
We washed the Strawberries clean and it smells good.
Ooh.
Soup soup starts with S and it smells good.
And hopefully all the vegetables got cleaned up nicely before making the soup depends on the soup though.
If there's vegetables in it or not.
Well friends, this has been a lot of fun.
Thanks so much for hanging out, spending some time together.
Make sure you go wash your hands today too.
Scrub a-dub-a-dub-a, scrub a-dub-a-dub-a srub-a d-d-d-da Oh, that was pretty close, Jim How did I do?
- That was pretty good.
I know.
I, I was thinking like that would even be a good way to finish our dance party with the (sings song) So maybe we wash our hands during the dance party That would be good.
- Yeah.
- Will you lead the song while we, while we do the dance party then?
- Sure.
We can try that.
All right.
- Okay.
- Here we go.
- We're gonna wash our hands.
(starts singing) - How many times do you have to do it?
Before our hands are clean?
I'm gonna have to go back and watch the video.
Just make sure.
- I love how it had the counter the 20 seconds - I know!
- Right?
So we have to go back and watch that again.
