So I'm going to send this one out to all of them but this is about a friend of mine that was taken at the young age of 19 victim of gun violence and it was Matt Irish, and I still miss him to this day.

He was a big teddy bear as we call this song, "Matty".

We've got Jeremy Jaeger here to tell us a little bit more about the band.

And I'd like to hear a little bit about the history and blues itself.

What makes people still drawn to it?

Well, it's funny you asked that now with all the stuff going on in the world.

I would say that the blues have been around forever and they're never going to go away.

As far as history of the band, it's pretty wild.

Our initial original drummer, his name was Tom Kitchen.

He was a friend of my, a friend of mine and he wanted me to come over and jam.

So I was hesitant and I was scared to go because he's really, really good.

So I finally went and we hit it off.

So he invited Doug, you know, said, "Hey, this is great.

Let's do it again."

And he invited Doug, our bass player and we played and it was almost like we had always played together.

So then it was like, this is something really cool here.

And so then Tom, you know, had another friend, Scott who played keyboards.

So he brought him out.

And same thing the first time that we had all played together, it was as if we had been practicing for years.

Like we had everything just jived.

And so we decided, you know, we're going to do this.

We're going to make a band out of this, so.

What is it about blues music that people just love?

I think it's just how organic it is.

You know, it comes from the gut, you know, and you know, it's stuff that everybody can relate to because everybody has downs in life, you know, and a lot of times they're more prominent than the ups, you know?

So I think that's why, you know everybody's always had that little, you know relation to it.

So yeah.

Tell me about some of your original music.

Where do you get your inspiration?

All over the place.

It's funny.

I just did an online concert and was asked a similar question.

I do the bulk of the writing and it comes from all different things.

I've had songs that start with a poem or an idea that I had.

I have them sometimes start in the car where I'm driving and something comes to mind.

So I pull out my phone and record myself just kind of humming a rhythm and I'll get home and try to put it down, you know on a guitar and see if I can't do something with it.

We have one song that we'll play it's called "One Time".

And I just always had wanted a song, to write a song where the whole band kind of stopped on key at certain times and counted, you know, one, two, three and four and have those stops going with it.

And that was kind of the whole premise of that one.

So I just, you know, came with a riff for that.

And, you know some are just playing out life experience, just, you know I've had some, you know, as, especially the last year and a half, couple of years has been, you know really insane for me just with all the things going on in my life and people lost and all that.

And so some of those have come from just, you know, sitting playing my guitar and pouring it all out and you know, something sticks.

And I go, "Oh, that sounds good."

And then I kind of, you know, and then a lot of times I'll bring it to the band practice and I'll be like, "Hey, you know, check it out.

And I came up with this riff," and then the guys will latch right on.

And next thing you know, we've got, you know most of the song written.

So yeah, it's all different, all different.

It just kind of comes out of the sky.

[laughing loudly] It's weird.

It's obvious you love music but who were some of your favorite artists?

I would say one of my all times is Eric Clapton.

I've always loved him.

Stevie Ray.

Those are two of my, you know, my favorites but Chris Cornell, he's been a huge inspiration for me.

Gosh, boy, there's a lot, you know, Waylon Jennings.

I liked some of that old, you know, old country stuff.

I like everything.

I mean, I, honestly, I like rap.

I like Snoop Dogg and some of the, you know some of the old school, the, the better, you know what I call the better rap, but anything that kind of catches me is, you know what inspires me, I guess.

And that's, you'll hear that when we play we're not just straight blues, you know we do kind of whatever comes to mind, you know?

And it's all got a bluesy feel because that's my background, but.

I cannot wait to hear you play somewhere.
