Thank you.
This might be a good time to introduce the band.
OK.
Especially after that very nice job you just did.
Thanks, Danny.
On my left here, on the saxophone, on the flute, and other things, [band laughing] my friend, Kevin McCleary.
We call him The Talent.
Yes.
Thank you.
Next to Kevin, our gracious singer.
She's the best.
Heather Nemenz.
On my right, the far end, our bass player, that keeps everything in the pocket, Pat Hodapp.
Next to Pat, Heather's better half.
Actually, you're better half.
She's the better half.
You're the better half.
You should've rehearsed that, Danny.
I probably should have.
Denny Nemenz on the guitar.
And sitting back there, keeping everything in tight, Johnny Richardson on the drums.
And next to me, the head Goat, Danny Pomorski.
I hope you're enjoying "Sounds Around Town" with The Goats tonight.
I know I am.
And we have the special treat of talking to one of the band members.
So tell me, how did this band come together?
How did the members all know each other?
Well, we all gathered together through music.
Basically, some of us knew each other 20 years ago.
Some of us knew each other in the last four or five years.
And basically we all kinda like the same stuff, so we enjoy each other.
How long has this group been together?
I wanna say maybe three years now.
Yeah, about three years.
So talk to me about the name.
The Goats is pretty unusual.
That was a late-night practice session that we were trying to come up with a name.
One of our friends says, "You know, you're just a bunch of old goats."
Somebody else said, "Stop!
Keep that old part off."
So that's how it came.
I'm not too keen about it, but now it's stuck, and we can't get rid of it, but it's still, it's OK.
So we know you're a cover band.
How do you choose the songs you're going to cover?
We choose songs that we like.
And we try not to choose too many songs that are really out there, that you've heard for the last 40 years.
We try to get some obscure stuff that basically, that we like.
So talk to me about some of those crowd pleaser.
What do people really love to hear you play?
We have such a diverse set list, I guess, that people like to hear a little bit of everything, and we try to give it to 'em.
So basically that's, we have so much fun doing it.
Thank you so much, and now we'll get back to "Sounds Around Town" with The Goats.
