Hey, it is getting warmer.
But wait, shouldn't it be getting colder?
- We're at the thermal vents!
- [gasps] Thermal vents?
- Huh?
- Uh-huh.
- Yeah, tell 'em, snookums.
- You see, thermal vents are places where warm water shoots up from under the ocean floor.
And this warm water makes it possible for all kinds of interesting and new creatures to live down here.
- And mud too?
- Oh, especially mud.
This warm water makes the ocean floor into the muddiest mud puddle yet!
- Ooh!
I love it!
Can we stay down here and play for a while?
- Sure.
Bob and I will be right around the corner, looking for lunch.
We'll come back soon and get you.
- Okay.
- [laughs] Let's go, come on!
- There's a mud puddle somewhere around here just waiting for us!
[both laugh] Hey, look at that.
The coral down here looks so different.
- Well, I don't think there is any coral down this deep.
- Oh, yeah?
Then what is that?
- [together] ♪ Ooh, ooh, ooh ♪ - Look, there are so many interesting creatures down here-- - Here in the deep today, I know.
I was just going say-- - Going to say the same thing.
[laughter] - Are you talking about us?
- Yes, we don't get many-- - Many visitors down here-- - Down here in the very deepest deep.
- Mm-hmm.
- Who are you?
- I'm Splash.
- Oh, and I'm Bubbles.
- [together] Ahh.
- What fascinating names.
I'm Plum.
- I'm Ruby.
- I'm Rose.
- That's Violet.
- Ooh.
- Yes, and we're giant tube worms.
- We live here, near the warm water vents and feed on bacteria that lives inside our bodies.
- Ack!
That sounds different.
And, uh, fun.
- It is.
What do you do for fun?
- Play in mud puddles.
It's the best fun of all!
[laughter] - [together] That sounds funny!
