So we try to make it fun.
- I like my fingers and my toes.
- [Parent] Community events are a great way to do that.
And we can find these at the library bookstore and even museums.
- For all I think and say, and do.
- [Parent] It's a way to switch things up.
My kids get to hear people other than their parents reading, which makes things interesting.
- Did the bad guy win?
- [Parent] They also see other kids enjoying the books.
I think it helps them watch their peers doing the same thing that we do at home.
But best of all is putting them on the path of literacy.
If we do arts and crafts, that helps with their fine motor skills that they need for writing.
Plus, story time can boost their vocabulary and improve their listening skills.
These events are a great way to keep my kids excited about reading.
