Well, we are Sunday at the Station.
We got Scott Stearns over here on the doghouse base.
[audience cheering] We got Josh Shaffer back here on the drums and washboard.
[audience cheering] Matt Marr on the banjo.
[audience cheering] And we got Donny Consla on the guitar.
[audience cheering] So this next tune is about a little Pennsylvania legend, Hey Matt.
Hey.
So has anybody ever been to Penn's Caves?
Whoo!
Yeah.
Has anybody ever read the plaque in front of Penn's Caves?
[Donny laughing] Reading is for nerds, Matt.
I see one plaque guy, I don't know if he actually did.
You read it?
Yeah.
Oh yeah so, so I was there and I guess just, I don't know, I took a picture of it and I was flipping through the pictures and I'm like, "Yeah, that'd be a pretty cool song," 'cause it's just a really good story about somebody making a really bad decision.
So it's about years, years ago this French trapper by the name of Malachi Boyer- You looked up his name.
I looked up here name.
It's WQLN- So we got- Nice.
Real facts here now, huh?
He was just wandering through the woods doing his trapping thing, and he came upon this Indian, the daughter of an Indian chief.
[Donny whistling] Yeah.
So he instantly fell in love with her beauty, and they made this plan to try to run away together.
Always a great idea.
Always until you get caught.
So they ended up trying to sneak away, and her dad and brothers caught up with them, and it ended pretty poorly for him, 'cause they didn't think that was such a good idea on his part.
So they ended up throwing him in this cave system, and just leaving him there to die.
So it's kind of a sad story, but the legend goes that at nighttime you can hear him calling her name, and that's the name of the song called "Nita-Nee".
One, two, three, four.
