BETWEEN OCTOBER 14 AND 25, THE MOON WILL PASS THREE NAKED-EYE PLANETS, ONE STAR CLUSTER AND TURN SUPER!
THAT’S FOUR MOON CONJUNCTIONS IN TWO WEEKS!
LETS START ON SUNDAY OCTOBER 14 WHEN THE MOON MEETS SATURN LOOK SOUTHEAST AS THE SUN DIPS BELOW THE HORIZON FOR A BEAUTIFUL WAXING GIBBOUS MOON.
THAT BRIGHT YELLOW DOT IS SATURN BONUS POINTS: LOOK TOWARD THE SUNSET AND SPOT THE EVENING STAR: VENUS NEXT ON THE 17TH YOU CAN SEE THE LARGEST MOON OF 2024, THE SUPER HUNTER MOON IT’S JUST A BIT LARGER THAN USUAL.
ON THE 19TH THE MOON WILL PASS THE PLEIADES OPEN STAR CLUSTER!
THEN ON THE 20TH THE MOON WILL MEET UP WITH JUPITER IN THE EASTERN SKY AND FINALLY, ON THE 25TH, CONJUNCTION #4 THE MOON COZIES UP WITH RED MARS!
THAT’S THE END OF THE WILD CONJUNCTIONS, THE MOON WILL CONTINUE WANING FOR THE REST OF OCTOBER MEANING WE’LL GET A DARK SKY THIS SPOOKY SEASON!
