Indiana’s Burns Harbor is trying to “green” the image of Great Lakes ports and industry.

The Port of Indiana-Burns Harbor is working to change the image and impact of lakefront industry by adopting new green measures at its port. As one of the busiest Great Lakes ports, it’s a significant hub for steel production. The new green efforts are important as the 600-acre port sits on Indiana's 45-mile Lake Michigan shoreline and is surrounded by communities & Indiana Dunes National Park.
