How long would it take for a new tree to grow as big as an old growth tree?
In Ketchikan, Alaska it rains up to 25 feet a year, making the plants in Tongass National Forest grow like crazy! Our investigators, Emma and Gracie visited three areas of the National Forest to retrieve samples and measurements of trees. The two figured the growth rate of each tree by dividing diameter by age.
