The Kent Meridian HUB is really the brainchild of three of our magnificent teachers Jennifer Hinerman, Kim Roberts and April Thousand.
The Kent Meridian Hub works to fulfill students basic needs so they can focus on their studies In education, it can be difficult to track and gauge our impact on students, and it's incredibly fulfilling to be able to see a need and immediately meet it.
Because many of our students are low income or refugees, our whole mission is to make the HUB as accessible to all, which then reduces the stigma of getting what they need.
When I was dealing with a particular student it was discovered that they and their family were dealing with housing insecurity, I thought, why do we not have a pantry, toiletries, and resources when we know this isn't an unusual situation here at KM?
We looked around, saw need, and so we started the journey of creating the HUB.
