Poirot is approached by Lady Chatterton, who believes her friend, the beautiful Marguerite, is in danger of being killed by her jealous husband. Lady Chatterton takes Poirot to meet Marguerite, but when a murder occurs at a party, Marguerite becomes the prime suspect, not the victim, until Poirot discovers a telling hole in a Spanish chest where the body was found.
