Marijuana was used in the U.S. as medicine up until the 1930s. For the last 20 years, state policies have changed allowing for medical use of pot. Public opinion overwhelmingly is for legal medical marijuana, but concern for marijuana’s safe use still exists, especially for children. Stigma still remains, even though it is on track to becoming a billion dollar business.
