When a priceless ruby is stolen from a dissolute young Egyptian Prince at Christmastime, Poirot is reluctant to take the case. He relents only when the Foreign Office convinces him that British national interest are at stake. During the course of the investigation, two mischievous children unwittingly help Poirot in his search for the missing jewel.
