When Thing 1 and Thing 2 have a big job to do, they use simple machines in Machinamazoo.
(Both laughing) With these simple machines, they can get the job done.
Can you see how they work now, Thing 2 and Thing 1?
Uh-huh!
Uh-huh!
Now, a pulley's a rope that goes over a wheel.
If you're lifting things up, then a pulley's ideal.
Ta-da!
Whoa!
Ha-ha!
A lever's a bar resting on a support.
When it lifts up our Things, is it work or a sport?
(All laughing) Okay, Things, that's enough now.
(Both laughing) (Whistling) Huh?
Huh?
BOTH: Ta-da!
CAT: A wheel on an axle moves heavy things well.
(Straining) (Humming) With no wheel, it's harder, as Thing 2 can tell.
(Laughing, humming) These are simple machines at Machinamazoo, but they're also in places much closer to you.
(Both laughing) If you open you eyes and look all around, you might see some here in this little playground.
So, I hope you now know from these comical scenes a thing or two about simple machines.
