Mornings have always had the great potential for fun, but Saturday mornings just got better.
It's our show today.
The first live interactive television show for kids and families.
Welcome to the show.
We're glad you're here.
Let's get to it.
Hey, what do you say?
Are you ready to make our show today?
Hey.
Great.
Yes.
What's on our show today?
We got puppets.
We have people.
We have places.
We have five.
We have.
Sorry.
We are using.
We got games.
We got you.
Hey, take it away.
Hey, hey!
That's us.
We get to take it away.
How are you doing?
Right.
Oh, yeah.
I'm so good.
Great.
Great to see you, Grover.
Yeah, it' great to see everybody here by.
So excited.
Hey, if you haven't done so already, if you're watching on your television right now, you go.
Hey, how's this remote thing working?
You want to visit?
Play with your that TV.
And if you go there, you can log in and your your phone or your tablet or whatever.
Using it becomes your internet, your internet remote control.
You can play with us.
It's the play at home interface.
That's what we call it.
So yeah, be sure to do tha if you haven't done so already.
Okay, so those who did we asked you two questions today.
We want to find out about you.
So this is a part of our show where we find out.
Do you like to swim?
That was the first question.
Yes.
Do you like this one?
Right.
Oh, I love to swim.
I love swimming.
Woo hoo!
Yeah!
Yeah, I like to do the backstroke.
Backstroke?
Your favorite?
Yeah.
Okay.
That's kind of I go, do I keep going?
You know, you can stop now.
Okay okay okay.
And then the second question that we asked you, why is.
Yeah.
And I'm not sure if you like this.
Would you rather own a dog or a cat?
Oh.
I think I like both.
I'd say dog.
I don't have a dog.
Absolutely, dog.
Now, no question about it.
Dogs.
You know, they chase me and stuff, but does cats.
Oh!
Look out!
Okay.
Anyway, so here's where we're going to present our viewers today.
Fun fact.
So we asked all of you.
So we get to find out about one another.
So we asked everybody this question.
We did a little poll, 77% of viewers who said they liked the swim also said they would rather want a dog.
That's good to know.
Yeah, and so we both said dog too.
So we were in the majority with our viewers today.
That doesn't always happen, but that's pretty exciting.
So good to know.
So it's great to see everybody here.
It's great to know that we like this one.
And those of us who like to swim prefer dogs over pets.
Oh wow.
Okay.
We're starting with the game.
This one is called Tug of Words.
It's great.
What we do i we ask you to type in any words you can think of that start with the letter S. Now your interface is either yellow or purple because that shows what team you're on.
And then whatever team you're representing, you're getting points right now.
Yello has more control of the board.
Hey we need we need some music on here.
Where's that music coming again?
All right.
So right now, yellow star, you're in the lead.
Good job.
Purple.
I saw some good words coming up there.
I think you got to take those.
You got to get whoa!
Singer.
Yeah, that's a good one.
Saturday it's Saturday morning.
We're glad you're here.
All right So anyways, this is Tiger Woods.
You seem to have the hang of it.
I love that everybody's playing along.
Oh, purple's catching up.
We're getting pretty neck and neck.
Squirrel.
You should get, like, three points for squirrel.
Like purple.
Might even have control of the board if it were up to me.
But that's a good one.
Oh, purple is taking over now.
Yellow, you up?
I spoke to someone.
This is a close match.
I don't know that I've ever seen a match this close before.
Spark.
Sun, same sand.
Sleep well?
I could use some sleep.
Yellow is taking control of the board.
Purple, you got to get going.
Oh.
I thought for sure maybe we were going to be done, but.
Purple came back again.
All right.
I think I'm going to call this one in just about 10s.
So you guys better get cracking.
Are you ready?
We're calling it right now.
Yellow.
You are the winner.
Nice job.
I'm very impressed.
Good job everybody.
Hey.
Great job.
Yellow.
That was great.
So, Hey, we're going to make the world's best poem today.
Are you ready?
So I need you to help me out with this, because we'r going to write it well together.
Can you share with me?
Start thinking.
Are you ready for it?
Can you share with me the finish to the sentence?
I heard you got a brand new.
What could it be?
What word do you want to put in there?
So everybody's going to give some ideas.
One will be chosen by ou producer Sam, and put in there.
And then my job will be our, our job, I should say, will be to come up with, the world's best poem ever today, you know, today specifically, based on that.
So let's see what the word for today is going to be.
I heard you got a brand new.
That'll be the start of the poem, right?
That' how that's how to kick it off.
And then we'll go from there with our rhyme.
So this could be anything where it could go.
What it could be.
I'm wondering if the word is going to be a tricky word.
A simple word.
The word is son.
Yes.
Okay, so the first sentence is and your job is to start rhyming with son right now.
So if the first word is son I heard you got a brand new son.
Oh, man, this is poetic.
What words rhyme with son?
I'll get to started.
Fun, of course, is obviously one of the first go to words.
So if we were to sa I heard you got a brand new son.
This is so fun.
And I'm here.
Are your words helping us out at home.
This is so fun.
Let's go for a run.
Have a sandwich with a bun.
There's only one possibility.
I gues there's lots of possibilities, but let's go from the top.
I heard you got a brand new son.
It's so much fun to go for a run.
Oh, I'm proud of you, my son.
We're going to have a sandwich with the bun.
Oh, and then what a tell.
We've spun.
Ooh.
Man, this is a rough draft right now.
Let's do one final take of the world's best poem ever today, from the top.
I heard you got a brand new son.
This is so fun.
Let's go for a run.
I'm proud of you, son.
Let's have a sandwich with a bun.
What a wonderful tale we've spun together.
We did it.
The world's best poem today.
Yeah.
I love working together.
Yeah.
Here's a fun game.
It's called.
What color is it now?
It's pretty self-explanatory.
Today's category is a cat.
So we have a cat.
You have to guess what color is it?
It could be any color.
We had a purple dog once.
I didn't expect to see that one.
So you just never know.
So right now with the play, how many face friends you can vote on?
What color you think our cat is?
We have a cat.
What color is the cat?
I'm seeing lots of different choices.
There.
What color is it?
Okay, so for some reason another everybody's voting yellow.
I saw lots of other colors there too.
Oh like green.
I'm not sure what's happening, but you know what, though?
Everybody at home take a guess.
We're going to show you what color the kitty cat is.
Now.
I. White.
Nobody guessed white.
Oh, is white even a choice?
La la al.
Now, I don't even know why it's a choice.
Hey, but good job, everybody that's called.
What color is that?
Brace yourself.
Today we're going to teach you how to make your very own one of a kind kazoo.
First, you'll need to get an empt toilet paper or paper towel tube and decorate it with colored paper, stickers, crayons, or even mark.
You can even go crazy with glue and feathers.
Oh yeah, I'm using some feathers for sure.
Well, it's really up to you.
Oh, once you're done decorating, cut out a piece of wax or parchment paper big enough to cover one end of the tube and put a rubber band around it to hold it in place.
Yeah, and then you put your mouth on the other end of the tub without the wax paper, and hum.
Oh, you're making music.
Oh, I'm making music.
What?
No, that was not near, was it?
Oh, well, you might have a different type of music you like.
Ooh, you say, that reminds me of a little joke.
Knock, knock.
Who's there?
Kazoo.
Kazoo.
Oh, kazoo.
Hum.
A song for me?
Yeah.
Do you have a favorite?
Oh.
What kind of music do you like to make?
I like this oh, man, I I'm haha.
Hey, that was where our friends Park Slice.
Julia and Betty tha I thought that was really fun.
I want to make a kazoo.
Yeah, I think, I think I am going to go and try to make one of those later.
Yeah.
Hey, we got a question for you, though.
Do you play an instrument or if not, what instrument would you like to play?
I know that I would love to play guitar, bu you know what, I keep looking.
I haven't been able to find on that's small enough for me.
Oh.
Oh, no.
I bet we can find one.
I'll help you find one.
That would be great.
I found, like, a little toy.
Oh.
Blue squirrel say they'd like to play the piano.
Oh, that would be fun.
Ding ding ding ding ding ding.
Greenhouse has clarinet.
Wow.
Clarinet.
That sounds nice.
I'm trying to play brown horse piano.
Yeah, I ran across a piano once.
It sounded like I was playing it, but I batted it.
Oh, pink Pixies.
Cello.
Oh, cello.
Nice, I got it!
Hahaha.
I can hang out with Park, sighs junior.
Purple ostrich says maraca.
Those are fine.
Yeah, those.
You shake them and they go like, I can't wait.
They won't be doing it.
I look, I wonder if it's a kazo that Red penguin's going to make or if they already have a kazoo.
Oh, gold pig says the bass.
Blue.
It's very loud now.
We're now playing the bass xylophone.
We had so many great ideas from our friends today.
Oh, yeah, xylophone will be fun to play too.
Oh, is that the one with the little metal pieces?
The little metal bars.
There you go.
Ding ding ding ding ding ding.
Okay, great.
Can I take it all back?
I do like cats You like to play guitar like me.
So I take everything I said about cats back.
Cats are okay with me.
Okay as long as they like the guitar.
Oh, that sounds traditional.
It kind of is.
Okay.
Hey so we've got another fun game.
This one is called choose.
Here's what you do.
You choose a door.
So right now we have no idea what's coming up next until you choose.
So you have three options.
You can choose door number one, door number two or door number three.
All right.
Now I know you're in a face.
Make a choice.
We're going to see who gets the most votes.
Whatever gets the most votes will get to open that door.
And we're all going to find out what's coming up next, I know, I can't believe that I know it.
I, I think it's going to be two.
That's my guess.
I don't know, I'm going to.
I'm going to say three.
Oh, let's find out.
To tell you it's going three way.
I was right.
Oh, hey, I almost didn't see you there.
I'm too late.
Director of content at WGU Public Media.
What a beautiful sunny day.
Let's use sun as our word for fill in the blank.
Can you think of a word that follows sun?
Today's fill in the blank is sun.
Blank.
Oh, sun blank I'd love fill in the blank I love fell two.
That's felony.
He's a big shot over that TV.
It's fill, I fill.
Yeah, he's the gu I got to complain to about that.
Only there being an apple in the craft services that I. We've been working on som getting some peanuts, some sun blank, some bear, some sunshine.
And there's all kinds of good ones.
All right.
We're going to see how people I guess in there.
Oh hey, there's Phil okay I knew blank I was going to say sun screen sunflower sunflower.
Yeah when I travel sometimes there's sunflowers.
Oh, sunshine.
That's a good one.
Oh yeah I love the sunshine.
Oh yeah.
Okay.
What's the difference between a sunshine and a sunflower?
I think a flare is more like a burst.
A big burst of energy from the sun, sunshine.
It's just like, you know, when it's glowing, it's just a normal day.
Okay, okay, so that's some other.
I think that maybe.
What?
Glitching out a little.
Oh, sunfish, this is all I see you know, what about a sunfish?
Oh, a sad face.
Yeah.
They swim.
Oh, how about a sun spot?
I'm going to do Phil's arms.
Like, look.
Hey, you look like Phil.
I thought you were up for a second.
Yeah.
No, it's me, it's me.
Ray.
Oh, I was wondering how to Phil, get here so quick.
All right, I saw it.
I see a double.
No, his name is me, Rover.
Okay.
All right, well, that is our game.
Fill in the blank.
We thank you for having some great ideas and that we thank friends for coming up with ideas.
Still, maybe at home you had an idea that we didn't share.
If you did, you can always reach us.
Said hey at our show today and.com forget the.com hey and I shall TODAY.com.
Send us a note.
Tell us what you like.
Tell us what you don't like.
Tell us a joke.
Tell us anything you want to.
Hey, at our show today, that com simply.
Yeah, it's a pretty good one.
All right.
Thanks, friends.
I think we're going to go to the zoo.
We're going to the zoo with all our friends and family.
We're gonna see us.
Carrot tailed gecko.
Hey, friends, it's Rover and Ray.
We're at the John Zillow again today with our friend Mitch.
Hey.
How are you doing?
Good.
How are you doing, Rover?
Good.
Good to see ace Copper doing.
He's doing real good.
How good are you still on the dinosaur?
Yeah.
So what do you have to show us here today?
Today behind us, I have the killer Hill viper.
Gecko.
Oh, man.
Wow.
Does he really have a carrot for a tail?
That's not a real carrot, but it does look like one.
Oh, okay, I was wondering, I was wondering, I was getting hungry.
All right, so he seems pretty small.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So this is about as big as they get.
They get about an inch or two long.
Most of it's their tail that looks like that carrot.
Wow.
And so like, what doe he look like when he's a baby?
When they are babie they actually hatch out of eggs.
So they're a little tiny about the size of a piece.
Oh bright white.
They're pretty cute right now.
Oh yeah.
How old is he right now?
They're about two, if I remember right.
Oh, okay.
So just a baby.
Oh kind of.
Yeah.
They get about 12.
Okay.
Yeah.
I see the baby down here.
Well okay.
So what is the vibrant part have to do with a viper?
Essentially a snake, right.
Yeah.
So when they are a nocturnal gecko.
So during the day when you see them, their pupil looks really thin, kind of like a snake does, like a viper.
Oh.
Okay.
So, so right now it's daytime and see, like, hey, what are you guys doing?
I'm trying to sleep.
Oh yeah.
They, you know, don't come out every now and again during the day, but they like to go and hide in their little burrows that are in there on the walls and stuff like that.
That's pretty neat.
That's what else do we need to know about them.
So they're from Iran and Pakistan.
So they are a little bit away from here.
But they really like the desert.
And they come out at night when it's a lot cooler.
So that way they don't get to hot and kind of stuff like that.
And so what kind of things does he like to do for fun?
You know, like at nighttim when he's out, they like to go and look for their food, which is bugs.
They like to climb.
So they got sticky toes, kind of like Spiderman.
So they'll go and climb up rocks or in here, they'll climb up the glass.
Wow.
I think they have a lot of friends.
Do they like to be sociable?
They do.
Yeah.
So it's actuall a type of gecko, very sociable.
So we have five of them in there.
And they all like to hang out together in the same little burrow a times.
Wow, that's really fun.
What kind of game do you think they like to play?
I bet they were really into tic tac toe and rock, paper scissors.
Yeah, yeah, well, those games tell me there's a lot I can't really play.
You know, I don't know if they can't at night.
I don't know what they do.
So I know you have I know exactly.
Yeah, that's probably why they're on it.
They don't want you to know what they're doing.
Exactly.
I bet they're a chance to.
You know, I bet they like checkers.
And does this guy have a name?
They don't, actually.
So we have my name.
I'm going to call him.
It looks like a tom to me.
Hi, Tom.
How are you doing today?
I named you tabby.
We could be friends now, I like that.
I think that's a good name for it.
Hey, thanks a lot.
It was fun talking to you and thanks for having us.
Yeah, absolutely.
Thanks, Mitch.
Yeah, that was fun.
And, you know, Tammy and I, we are good friends still.
We've got we've got a little checkers club.
I go over and Tomm and I do play checkers at night.
It was so cool.
I love learning about him.
I was I was really looking closely at things that day.
Yeah, and, you know, we were wondering.
I know Tammy is a great name, but what would you name a carrot tailed gecko like if you could come up with any name you want?
I can't tell gecko.
You just saw those little cute guys.
What would you name them?
I think my name is Mark.
Tommy's got friends, Mark and Tommy.
Frosty.
Oh.
Frosting is a good name for our country.
Now, I think.
Root.
I said pig root.
I have roots.
Clever.
I like that kind of carrot.
Carrots.
Very appropriate.
Hey.
Oh, yeah.
That's really nice.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Peanut?
Peanut would be a good name.
I might be tempted to my.
You know, I like peanuts more than I like carrots.
When people go home.
You love them, I know.
Bingo.
Yeah.
Bingo.
Hey.
Okay.
Sam's telling us to wrap.
We gotta keep moving.
So.
Sam.
Yeah.
Okay.
We were just getting excited about talking about names for a little baby geckos.
All right, it's time for another game.
This one's called.
What is it?
Okay, actually, it's called.
What is it?
I have we have three games called.
What is it?
It gets confusing, but this one is.
What is it?
So we cast the shadow on the wall.
You have to tell us what it is.
What I think it is.
I think I know, I know, I was gonna say, I think I know that guy.
Oh, you go first, you go first.
Well, I was think it actuall looks like a dog friend of mine.
Oh, I think it's two.
I think it's two people that are, just hanging out and a banana.
Two people hanging out on a banana, I think.
So that's clearly a dog.
Oh, no, wait now we've got people guessing.
You gotta guess what it is.
If somebody does get the right guess, the game is over.
Oh, but I don't kno what happens if nobody gets it.
I thought this woman was nice.
It's a dog that anybody gets dog yet?
No guesses for a dog.
Come on.
I'm kind of surprised nobody got this one yet.
Dog day.
Oh, just type in day.
Oh, gee.
Game will be over.
It's that day.
Sometimes people think it's day.
It's not.
It's day out.
That's probably the problem.
People are typing in dog.
Wrong.
I really enjoy you.
You're fun.
I like your humor.
Right?
We're over humor.
Okay, here's what I'm gonna do.
I think we're gonna reveal it because I don't think anyone's got it yet done.
So we're gonna let you know, I think.
Wait a minute, wait a minute.
Brown horse didn't get it.
I said, is he, He is a story that would all make sense.
Okay.
Oh, my.
It's upside down.
Who's the guy down?
That was all right.
Good.
Good job everybody.
You know I thought they had a good joke.
What?
Why di the cookie go to the hospital?
Why didn't the cookie go to the hospital?
That's a good one.
What is it?
Because he was coming.
He was clapping, feeling very.
They really felt like a cookie before.
I feel sad for the cookies.
Is the cookie okay?
Oh, yeah The cookies got to be just fine.
He's going to say that he's going to see the doctor at the hospital.
Okay, I feel bad.
I, I want to make sure we got time for this one.
So we're running out of time so quick.
We've been having so much fun, but this game might be my very favorite of all.
It's called find it fast.
Oh, yeah.
Me?
Here's how we play the game.
You've got two minutes.
You need to find three things really fast.
Find something that starts with the letter P, something that is round, and find something.
That's you.
Me?
I'm looking.
All right.
I'm go.
I'm looking.
I think I see a penny.
Is it a penny I gotta look oh no, not a penny.
Oh, no.
What is that?
Oh, no.
Okay, I'm gonna look over here.
What is this?
Oh boy.
Hahaha.
Okay.
I'm back, I'm back.
I think I found something I oh, I dropped it.
Okay.
You know, I just, I just had a penny and I dropped it.
Oh, no.
This is fast.
This is a lot of work.
Okay, so, what are the things again?
Something.
Something with the p. Something that's round.
Something that you made.
Okay.
I made my spaceship.
Yeah?
Yeah.
Did you see this?
It's small.
Can you see I've got a penny right there.
That's my penny.
Oh, yeah, I gott I gotta go find something else.
Okay.
Oh, don't.
My pennies round.
I guess that could do.
Yeah.
You didn't make the penny, did you?
Now, I, I didn't make it.
I found that good.
Yeah.
Okay.
I'm.
I keep looking too.
I look over here.
Hey.
Anything round over here?
Is that a donut?
Okay.
No, look.
Let me go over here.
Okay, okay.
I keep dropping things.
I don't see anything.
Okay, have a look over here.
What?
What I did.
Here's a kazoo I made.
Oh two.
You leaving?
Yeah.
Maybe I didn't make one here.
How do we got to do it?
I dropped it again.
Wait.
Oh, no, I said green out behind this side to see.
Oh.
That's better.
Hey.
Oh, hey, Rover, we can't hear with you because you playing out second you take you're you're the reader right.
I got short pants up blueberry castle.
Good job.
Purple stretch.
Nice.
Oh, go, pig.
Find a pen, a cup and some music.
Oh, they made me wait.
Heck, yeah.
Paint mug.
Okay, I still have time to look.
I want to get the game job done.
Are they were done?
Yeah.
We're done.
That's all right.
I hope you guys found you had to do this picture the other day, right?
No, that's okay.
We're we're out of time.
That's okay.
Well that's okay.
I mean, you know, you can keep going.
It's just that, you know.
Oh, penny ball and a picture that you made.
I would like to see your picture sent it to.
I said, hey, at our show today, maybe we'll share with everybody else.
Hey.
Pink lipstick.
Good job you found a pillo that starts with paint a ball.
It's round.
And you made a dolphin.
Wow.
I wonder do how d you make a dolphin with crayons?
With markers?
I know what I'm doing with collage.
There's so many possibilities.
Gray cats, pasta, porridge.
Yum.
Nice.
I'm hungry, I am toast.
All right, well, good job everybody.
That was fun.
That was our first.
That was our fun.
They call it an inaugural episode.
Know you guys are a lot of fun.
You helped us make a great show today.
We're glad that you're here.
