- Oh, thanks, Dad!
I can see it.
It's getting darker.
- Oh, my gosh, look everyone.
The diamond ring.
[crowd oohs] Wow, it's exciting.
- Ooh, should reach totality in ten, nine, eight, seven... all: Six, five, four, three, two, one.
- We have totality!
all: It's a total eclipse of the Sun!
- [gasps] Stars!
I can see the stars!
Whee!
- Ha ha, all right, guys.
That's our cue.
[groovy music] ♪ ♪ ♪ Well, the Moon goes around the Earth ♪ ♪ While the Earth goes around the Sun, you know ♪ ♪ But once in a while, just by chance ♪ ♪ Sun, Moon, and Earth do their cosmic dance ♪ ♪ And they all line up in a row ♪ ♪ ♪ - ♪ Then the Moon shadow shades the Earth ♪ - ♪ Then the space show has begun ♪ - ♪ The land gets quiet, the light gets dim ♪ - ♪ Birds won't tweet when the Sun gets slim ♪ - [yawns] ♪ It's a total eclipse of the Sun ♪ ♪ It's going to be amazingly fun ♪ ♪ When the light goes away at the height of the day ♪ ♪ It's a total eclipse of the Sun ♪ - ♪ For a moment, the stars come out ♪ ♪ It's dark and quiet, just like night ♪ - ♪ Dogs roll over and rest their head ♪ - ♪ Birds turn in like it's time for bed ♪ - ♪ Hey, can I borrow your flashlight ♪ ♪ It's a total eclipse of the sun ♪ ♪ It's going to be amazingly fun ♪ ♪ When the Moon barges in and the world goes dim ♪ ♪ There's a diamond ring where the Sun has just been ♪ ♪ It's supposed to be day, but the light goes away ♪ ♪ It's a total eclipse of the sun ♪ all: It's day again!
