An event that began in September 1972 out of a friendship between Mankato businessmen Bud Lawrence and Jim Buckley, and Dakota Spiritual Leader Amos Owen. This event is meant to honor the 38 Dakota who were hanged in Mankato on Dec. 26, 1862 & to share a wider knowledge of Dakota culture.
