Frank Murphy interviews Sam Venable, who has been writing for the Knoxville News Sentinel since 1970 despite the fact that he allegedly retired in 2014. Sam studied forestry and wildlife management at UT but realized that writing about the outdoors was a better option. He segued from outdoors editor to humor columnist and has turned that into a series of books and public speaking engagements.
