To get started, I'd like you to gather a few materials: piece of paper, a marker or crayons, a pair of scissor and some tape.
And today we have and New Victory Theater who are gonna be doing some fun things with us.
So, but in order to get started, a very special guest.
And our special guest is Mia, who's the new co-counselor for Ca So can you guys join me in giving a big warm welcome to Mi a!

How's Thank you so much for having me.
I'm so excited to be here, and today we're gonna make some music, we're gonna learn a dance, and we're gonna ha Are you ready?

We're go I'd like to invite Yakir from National Dance Institute to the stage.
Yakir is going to make music along with him.

It's so Let's break up this heat and learn how to make music But first I want to introduce one of my closest friends.
This is Jasmine, isn't she gorgeous?

(kissing drum) Ahh, delicious.
Jasmine is a doumbek.
Doumbek is one of the most c of the Middle East, and doumbek sounds like th named doumbek because it has two distinct sounds: a doom, which is a low sound, and a bek, high sound, very piercing.
And the way you play t you mix the doom and the bek, and it goes like this.
(playing doumbek) Now how about we take those sounds and we articulate, you articulate them with our body and our voices?
So instead of hearing the drum on the drum we're gonna do it like this.
Take your hand, place it right here o and say doom.
You can do it with your eyes, doom.
You can do it with your feet.
I'm choosing to do it with my hand.
Now watch: we're gonna do two d doom doom, try it.
Nice!
Now we're gonna shift to a different sound.
Right here, right?
I'm using my kne or your ear, or your bald head.
(flicks head) Oh, rats Um, try th doom doom, tek.
Try that.
Now use your voice and articulate on your body.
doom doom tek, try it.
Nice!
Now let' doom doom tek, doom tek.
Notice, first I'm using two dooms and one tek, and I'm using one doom and one tek.

Wel about one of my favorite foods of all t Can you guess what it is?
It's spaghetti!
does anyone else like spaghetti?
- I love spaghetti.
- Oh Yakir loves spaghetti.
Spaghetti is the first So we're gonna do a dance about it.
So I'm gonna invite you to sta up if you want or you can do a chair dance.
That's cool too.
All right.
So we are gonna be like So you can reach your arms to the sky and reac up toward the sky and make a very straight body.
And we're gonna jump eight times in Ready?
Go 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
Ooh.
I love this straight spaghetti.
Let's try in circle.
Ready?
Steady Here we go 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Wonderful.
After you have your straight spaghetti we're gonna put it in the boiling water.
Everyone show me some water boiling.
Ooh, I see some wiggly dancing there.
I love it.
Let's do in a circle plus eight counts in the boil Can we get Yakir back up here?
He's gonna play his doumbek for us as we do our spaghe Now because we're on Zoom.
There might be a little bi to Yakir's music and dance along to that.

- Turn and turn wiggle, wiggle, wiggle - Ooh, that was excellent.
All right.
After the So everyone pour that water out all the way to one side and pour to the other side.
Let's do four counts in each direction.
I love how much you're leaning.
Yakir can you count us in?
- 5,6.
Here we go.
Now 1, 2 ,3, other side.
- Ooh, good.
Our spag It's time I like tomato sauce.
Spread the tomato Do we have any butter people out ther Anyone like butter on your Oh, I see some butter people.
What about pesto?
Are pesto people out It's a little fancy.
Some pesto.
All right.
And mm, cheese I do too.
So whatever your favorite sa pesto.
Anything else?
You're gonna spread So it goes like this.
Spread the sauce, spread Great.
Okay.
So we're gonna do th Eight counts of our straight spag dropping down into the water, the water boils and it bubbles.
And we turn all wiggly and then out to one side and the other side, and then we're gonna spread our favorite sauce on t All right, here we go.
Arms to the sky, lifting up the Count us in Yakir.
- 5, 6 here we go.
- Jump and wiggle pour the other side (singing) - Yeah.
I have a challenge for you.

We're gonna do the whole thin Four counts to jump in a circle.
Four counts to wiggle in the water.
Four counts to pour.
We're just gonna pour We don't wanna burn ourselves with the wat So we're just gonna po to the first side an Get ready.

Okay.
Last I saw there was a lot of cheese people Anyone cheesy?
Show me We're gonna yes.
Oh, I love t We are gonna put some cheese.
So get your cheese Get your favorite kind o And we're gonna grate the cheese.
Can I see so Oh yeah.
Then go the other Grate that chees one more time.
Good.
Pick up your pasta.
Give it a Your family, your siblings whoever you wanna give your pasta to maybe it's for yourself.
All right, here we go.
Let's sprinkle and then offer our delicious meal to our friends.
Here we go.
Yakir count us in.
- 5,6,7, grate the cheese.
- Okay.
It's time for us to do our whole spaghetti dance.
Alright cooks.
Get into a chef positi if you have your spoon to stir.
Yakir is gonna count us in.
We are going to do the eights of everyt then four counts each then the cheese and the chees I think we are ready for it.
- Hey Calia look what I found Calia I found this brush that I have it kind of looks like s so I'm going to try and - Oh I love it - Make pas - (laughing) Excellent.
- 5,6,7 and jump and wiggle.
Pour.
Four count each and 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4 and change it up, and change it up and grate it and change it up and grate it and stir and offer to your family.
- Yeah.
That was wonderful.
Mia are you feeling hungry now?
- I am so hungry I know what I am making for dinner tonight.
And it is spaghetti.
The question is what will the sauce be.
I don't know those all sounded really good.

- For our final activity today, we're gonna have a puppet party.
That's right.
A party I'd like to introduce Siobhan from New Victory Theatre Hey Siobhan.
- Hey Mia.
Hi every I'm so excit I'm already so p from all this danc It's time to get some puppet friends involved.
So together we're gonna craft some really really easy puppets by puppafying the things around us, puppafying the things around us.
What do I mean?
I mean t You could have a camera.
That's a puppet.
Ooh, or a cup.
That's a puppet.
And you know what?
Even you OK. See you later.
So think about it.
What are you gonna cho and grab something near you or get your hand ready to turn into a I'm looking at my items around me and I'm, wou I'm gonna pick this spatula and not just any spatula, a frosting spatula.
I see a lot of puppet potential here and I also let's see what we got in this room.
Let's see all this puppet potential.
Wow.
I see a glass.
Oh, such cool things.
A shoe.
There is.
So there I am so excited.
Cause it's time to bring them to l So let's put your friend down just for a second and get So you gonna need your paper.
And your something to write Wh ether that be a ma Now, I'm gonna show you how to make some really easy eyes.
But if you already know how to make some eyes I'm not gonna hold you back and I'm not gonna stop you.
You make the eyes the way you want to but I'm gonna show you a quick Let's turn this down this way.
Move the spatula little bit.
So I like to draw my eyes close to the edg So that when I cut it, it's not a long way to go.
It's just right there on the edge.
So I'm gonna draw two circles like that.
And then I'm gonna do two arched lines on Just like that little eyelids and then we are going to do two circles righ Like that.
Look we have eyes.
So close to bringing them to life.
Now you need to get your scis Ah, thank you.
And remember to always be safe.
If you need a grownup's help, please ask for their help to cut out those eyes.
Actually.
Thank you.
So cut them out as you like them.
Get em real good and close.
Or maybe cut em out together, So they're gonna look something like, Oh, Ah, check them out aren't t If you have your eyes ready, show t These are my eyes ready to go.
And it's time to make them stick to our friends.
Perfect.
I love it okay so what we're going to do, oh I got the marker dirty.
Get your tape, and you're gonna flip your eyes.
So this is, these are the sides I drew on.
You wanna go to the other side and stick it on the back of th I'm gonna get my tape through a little spl I did.
Yay.
There's the tape, one mor Might need an adult help to do this as well.
If not, that's totally awesome.
Here we go.
Eyes.
Ooh, actually that looks like a snail.
Hello how are you doing today?
Okay.
Back to the party.
We gotta get our puppet friend ready?
So pick up your item and get ready to stick those eyes right on.
And you can choose Maybe in the middle, maybe down low.
Maybe, maybe you're puppet is sideways and the eyes belong that way.
But I'm gonna put mine right Get them sticky.
Ready to go?
Yeah.
Put your fri - I love them so much already.
- So now, now, now this is serious.
You want to look at your puppet.
You wanna look at them and you wann what is their name?
Hmm.
What can we name this puppet?
How did this puppet move?
does it move really, really fast?
Or really slow.
- Have some fun playing around, Introduce the puppet to your fr to the screen, say hello.
Maybe they make a sound.
Hm.
Let me think.
Huh.
This is Tammy and Tammy moves really fast.
And when she does she hops around.
Up down, whoop, whoop, whoop (inaudible speech) Show your friends to the camera.
We're almost ready for the party.
All we need are a few dance moves.
Okay?
So you can have your puppet, do the side to side.
As I like to call it.
You litt you can follow me a little sway, a lit maybe in the party.
They jum Yep.
I see it.
Or maybe they ju Real cool.
Yeah.
So we're gonna get some music And when you hear the music move around, have fun.
You could do one of those dance moves or Yo u like to call that a freestyle.
So make up your own.
You probably g So if you wanna join me on stage, which means to be seen with your puppet, dancing in the party, raise your hand and we'll spotlight you.
So let me if you w So get ready.
The music's gonna begin.
DJ hit (dance music) Yeah.
whoo whoo, yeah puppet party, puppet party, puppet p Whooh, get down it's a puppet party, puppet party whooh goood job best party ever I know.

- Alright DJ you can cut the music, but don't panic everyone.
