From Aug. 27 to Sept. 5 no sales tax on school supplies, pre-K through college
Gov. Phil Murphy announced an agreement for a back-to-school "tax holiday" as part of the negotiations over the state budget for the 2023 fiscal year. From Aug. 27 to Sept. 5, sales taxes will be dropped on all school supplies for students in pre-K through college. It includes basics like pens and pencils, as well as art supplies and even sports equipment, laptops, and bike helmets.
