Equinox is Latin for "equal night" becaue daylight hours and nighttime hours at this time are equal.
Also on the equinox the Sun rises exactly due east and sets exactly due west.
This happens all over the planet so it's a unifying amazing event.
In the northern hemisphere, this marks the beginning of Fall and onset of Winter but in the southern hemisphere its the start of Spring, Viva.
Even ancient cultures clocked the changing of the seasons by this special date.
They built mounds and hinges and posts helping to track it and create the very first calendars, though today you have us.
They say you can balance an egg on its end on the equinox but that's just an urban legend.
Instead of playing with ovum's, head outside, enjoy the sunlight and keep looking up!
