- Ugh, I'm trying.
- [Randi] What's wrong?
- Well, there's a big poetry slam coming up and they have asked everyone to write a whole new poem, but I already have a poem that would be great.
I don't know what to do.
- Why not just read the old poem?
- These poets are tough crowd, Randi.
I can't have them thinking I'm out of poem ideas.
They'll think I'm unoriginal.
- Hmm, that is a tough decision.
But I wonder.
- [Stacey] Yeah?
- Do you recite your poems for the audience's reaction?
- No, I recite them for how good they make me feel.
- And I bet the audience is more interested in you feeling good rather than whatever new poem you've come up with.
- I guess.
- So what's more important, being original or staying true to yourself?
- Being true to myself, that's a no brainer.
