(upbeat music) - Hi friends, I have a wonderful book to share with you.
It's called the Whistle For Willie, by Ezra Jack Keats.
And it is published by New York, the Viking Press.
And this is an older story.
So, grandparents might have enjoyed it when they had little ones, but it was published in 1964.
And it's such a classic because who doesn't enjoy a summer day or love their favorite pet?
And so, this book is about Pete, and his best friend who is a dog named Willie.
And Pete wants to be able to whistle for his friend, Willie so, so much, but he doesn't know how to whistle.
So, we spend a day with Pete trying to learn how to whistle and how to make it work.
And it's a hot summer day in the city, and you get to see where he plays, and where he meets his community friends, and his dog, Willie.
And he finally masters a new skill, and that's what the book is about.
Whistle For Willie.

Hey friends, anybody have any insight on why we put that tea kettle?

- I learned in school that when you have steam it can make a whistling sound.
- That's what it is!
Haha!
Wait, what about the steam?
That's what makes the whistle sound?
- Kind of, 'cause it's pushing out so hard that it has to make some sort of sound, and then it makes a high pitch sound, which makes the whistle.
- There it is!
- Ah, I love it, thanks Cailyn.
Nicely done.
