There are some pretty strange fish in the rivers, oceans, lakes and swamps of planet Earth.

(Grunting) And I finally got the suction arrow off!
(Laughing) So the archerfish is an ordinary little fish with an extraordinary creature power.
And now, it’s time for a detailed breakdown of the archerfish power in action.
An archerfish swims close to the water’s surface.
Scanning above, looking for prey.
They look at the branches hanging over the water.
Like that one, where insects might be.
And they’re really good at spotting movement.
MARTIN: An archerfish takes time to aim... fire!
And the glob of water goes flying!
Right to the target, and hits in a powerful glob.
An archerfish is really good at predicting where that insect he hits is going to land.
So he can get there and gobble it up before any other archerfish can.
An archerfish isn’t born with perfect aim.
That only comes with practice.
And observation, because young archerfish watch experienced archerfish spitting the globs of water at insects.
Whoa!
That happened so fast.
We gotta slow it down.
We gotta see it in slow motion.
He shoot, and bam!
The insect is knocked into the water below.
