Wild Kratts
Roadrunner: Livin Creature Style
Clip | 50sVideo has Closed Captions
Martin and Chris find out that even though the roadrunner prefers to run, it can also fly!
Chris measures how fast the roadrunner runs and concludes that it is one of the fastest running birds in the world. Martin and Chris take a look at the roadrunner's aerodynamic posture as it runs, stretching its body out but keeping his head down, which makes the bros think the roadrunner can't see where it's going. They worry it will run into a cactus but it flies up onto it at the last second.

(meter beeping) - [Chris] Whoa, 26 miles an hour.
That makes the roadrunner one of the fastest running birds in the world.
- [Martin] And check out that aerodynamic running posture.
- But with his head down, he's not running with his head out.
I don't think he can see where's he's going because he's running right into a cactus.
- Of course, we should have seen that coming.
A road runner can fly, but he just prefers to run most of the time.
Oh, I love how the roadrunner uses vantage points, like cactus, or rock, to perch and scan for prey.
- Then when he spots something, he runs off after it.
- Oh, and what a great creature power that would be to have.
Could you imagine roadrunner powers.
