Clip | 1m 26sVideo has Closed Captions
The bear fishing contest begins and Chris observes it from within the Fishmobile.
The bear fishing contest begins and Chris, now in the Fishmobile, is in the middle of the action. He watches as both the spirit bear and the black bear challenge each others fishing skills. In the end, Chris observes that the spirit bear catches more fish and concludes that may be because the white fur acts as a camouflage, hiding them from the fish.

Now, where are those bears?
Over there!
It'’’s Pawflip!
Look out!
AVIVA: Ooh, a miss from Pawflip.
Whew, we saw her dark body above us just in time.
But where'’’s Spirit?
I don'’’t see her.
Ah, that'’’s it!
That could be why spirit bears have developed white fur.
It helps them get more fish!
Fish have trouble seeing them against the bright sky and frothy white water!
Aah!
Wow!
That'’’s another one for Spirit!
Hmm, wait!
Chris?
All right, Spirit, I think you win!
Yep, easy girl, you win 10 to 6.
And you even found Chris.
(Nervous laughing) Experiment'’’s over.
(Nervous laughing) (Glass cracking) Aah!
Please don'’’t eat me!
Oof!
Chris, are you all right?
Yeah.
(Groaning) So now we know.
A spirit bear'’’s white fur is harder for fish to see than a normal black bear'’’s fur.
That'’’s why they catch more fish.
Cool.
It'’’s like they have fish-catching camouflage!
Experiment successful.
