Acadia's Vanishing Trail

Only at low tide can you hike this trail to an island half a mile out in Bar Harbor at Acadia National Park. The trail to Bar Island is part of the National Park trail system but it is not promoted because each year hikers become stranded by the returning tides that submerge the trail in 6 to 8 feet of water.
