Julieta came to the United States as a young girl. While in college at the University of Texas at Austin, she helped form the University Leadership Initiative to address the obstacles facing undocumented students in college and post-graduation. The group became a stepping stone to promoting higher education for immigrant students through educating the public about in-state tuition laws.
