- That's who the package is for.

- Well, it's a pretty big building, Albie.
Uh, I'm sure there's lots of people that you don't know.
- Yeah, but I'm the elevator operator.
- I know everyone who lives here.
(Albie panting) - Maybe Claire takes the stairs.
(dramatic music) - What!
- Albie, don't get too frazzled.
There's lots of things I don't know, like how to eat soup dumplings.
(soft music) Or what makes the stars shine, or how to say arboretum.

Hey, I think I did it!
(tone chimes) (elevator dings) Oh, floor 15.
Here we are.
- But, Gene!
How am I supposed to just go around not knowing who Claire is?
- I wouldn't worry about it too much, Albie.

(sad music) (door whirring) - No, it's not!

I have some of the answers, but not all of them.
Ah, I need to power it down for a moment.
(Tibitz whirring) - But Tibitz.
- [Tibitz] A crepe is like a flapjack, but thinner.
But I have absolutely no idea if it's possible to touch a dream.

(Tibitz whirring) (elevator dings) (doors whirring) - Albie!
Would you rather be a sweet little rock or a fluffy cotton candy cloud?

(body thuds) (heart thumping) - Where did this lamp come from, Zia?
- Uh.
I found it on the curb.
Someone must have been getting rid of it.
- And how do lamps work?
- Beats me.
I just flip the switch.

- Whoa.

Albie, I'm not sure I know.
Maybe Tibitz does.
- [Tibitz] My circuits are still recovering.
I couldn't possibly answer!
- But I need answers.

- Well, I'm not sure.

- [Both] Shrug, shrug, shrug, shrug.

♪ Powering down, down, down, down, down, down ♪ - [Tibitz] We have arrived.
(elevator dings) - Hey, Zia.
- Hey.
I was just telling my friend Albie about you.
She has a lot of big questions, - But not a lot of answers.
And I really wanna know everything.
- I love big questions.
- And big answers?
- Hmm.
Well, I don't always think the answers are so important, but the big questions, they're great.
In fact, my friends and I were just about to do some wondering like this.
(upbeat music) Hmm.
I wonder what this is seeing to make their head spin.
- I wonder why this artist used these particular colors.
- I wonder why there's some full circles and some half circles and some ovals.
- I wonder why there is a ear or foot, whatever that is.
- I wonder why the artist used those shapes.
- All right, everybody, come on over.
Gather around.
All right, so I have this incredible work of art that I wanted to chat about with you, but we're gonna split up our conversation into three steps.
So first we're going to see, then we're going to think about what we are seeing.
And third, we're going to wonder together.
We're gonna ask so many questions about this work of art.
Do you feel ready?
Okay.
Let's start off by walking all the way around it so you can look at this art from every angle.
Check out the bottom, let your eyes travel up to the top.
And then let's take a seat together.
And I would love to hear what you noticed when you were traveling around the work of art.
- I noticed that there is like a lot of points.
- Really nice.
What else did you notice when you were walking around?
- I noticed it was rainbow color.
- Rainbow colors?
Yeah, absolutely.
- I noticed it looks really heavy and it looked like more 3D.
- More 3D.
Tell me what you mean by 3D.
- Like it looks more like it's popping out.
- Excellent.
- (indistinct) are like in like flatter.
- Yeah, it's popping out.
We were able to walk all the way around it.
It's a 3D artwork.
What does this artwork make you think about?
- That it reminds me of like mountains and valleys.
If you look into the middle, there's lots of like wavy parts that are lower.
- Yeah, I love that you use the words "mountains and valleys" to describe the shapes going on in this work of art.
I'm wondering if this was like a mysterious land what kind of creatures might live in here?
- Maybe a dragon.
- I love that.
Maybe dragons live through here.
- If you turn some stuff the other way, then they would look like cones of an ice cream cone.
(Zia gasping) - These are such good observations.
- Those primary colors over there.
Why are they not mixing?
How did they keep it separate?
- Oh, so Logan's already wondering, has got some good questions going on about why aren't these colors mixing together?
Like how you're wondering about the process in making this work of art.
- But what about the wonder part?
Don't you want answers?
- So sometimes you can look up the answer on the computer or in a book, but other times it's okay to not know.
Wondering helps our imagination grow.
- So you don't need to know everything?
- No, of course not.
It's the wondering part that's important.
You don't need to have all the answers.

- Of course, Albie.

- I figured out that it's okay not to have all the answers.
It's okay that I don't know our mysterious neighbor, Claire.
It's okay to just wonder.
- Oh!
Do you guys wanna do a wonder wonder?
It's where we take turns wondering about something.
- Yes.
- Okay.
I wonder what it would be like to have big ears like an elephant.
- Ooh.
And I wonder what it would be like to go to a rock concert with my big new ears.
- Ah, ah, I wonder, uh, what it would be like for them to make music for big ears that you could dance to.
- Oh yeah.
(elevator dings) - Huh?
(doors whirring) - [Claire] Hi.
So this is what the elevator looks like.
I've always wondered.
- Oh, hi Claire.
(Claire gasping) (sad whistle playing) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (elevator dings) (door whirring) (people chattering) - Here we go.

Drum roll me.
(laughing) Okay, here we go.

- (laughing) I do.
I love clay.
You can make anything with it.

- Anything.
- Can I trade you my bag of mud for something amazing?
- What if I told you you could make something amazing out of clay?
- Amazing mud.
- Could you show us?
- Let's do it.
(upbeat music) I'm gonna make something outta clay with my kid Henrick.
- Hi, Albie.
- Hi.
- We use the pottery wheel to make things like cups, mugs, bowls, bottles, or vases.
Anything that's round in shape we could do on a wheel.
The wheel spins the clay around and we use our hands to shape it.
What would you like to make, Albie?
- A mug for hot chocolate!
Mm-hm.
- Let's try it.
- I'm gonna take this clay.
Help me throw it on.
Throw it right in the middle.
Alright, now we're gonna get the wheel moving.
What we need to do next is make sure the clay's really well attached.
So I'm gonna take both hands and squeeze down onto it.
- Whoa.
- Alright, put your finger right here.
You're gonna push down real hard.
Drill a hole right in the center.
- Oh my.
- Keep pushing, keep pushing, keep pushing.
All right.
Now pull it towards you.
Open that piece up.
- Oh!
What?
Whoa.
Here, grab this.
Put it right there.
Push it in.
- Whoa.
- Get rid of some of the clay from the bottom here.
- That's actually a cool cup.
- Does this look like a good mug shape?
- [Henrick] Yeah.
- And the next step is we have to add a handle.
- That's the important part of our cup.
- Alright, here's what we're gonna do.
We're gonna wrap this around my hand to get a nice shape.
We'll get a little bit of water here.
Start at the bottom, push that in.
Do the same with the top.
And we got a handle.
What do you think?
- Ta-da!
- We made the clay into a new shape.
- Wow!
- Once the shape is done, you have to let the clay dry.
Fire it once, and then?
- It looks like this.
(mug clinks) - Whoa.
- You can color your mug with glaze.
So the glaze is a mixture of different chemicals and colorants in a big bucket.
We can mix it up and either dip the piece in there or we can paint it on with a brush.
- Yeah.
- Let's get that off.
And then we need to mix this bucket up.
(drill whirring) Hold the tongs.
I'm gonna dip it real quick.
All the way down.
Lift it up, pour out the excess.
- [Albie] Hmm.
- The next step is to put the piece inside the kiln.
The inside of these kilns get very hot.
It actually fuses the clay together, so it's hard.
And that's where we get all the colors from the glaze.
The inside of that kiln gets to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Wow.
That's hot!
- After the kiln, the clay goes from this... - To this.
- A mud mug!
- An amazing mud mug.
This started as just a piece of clay.
Remember?
- Oh yeah.
- So Albie, what can I trade you for your bag of clay?
- Hmm.
Actually, I wanna keep it.
- You're gonna have a lot of fun.
Bye, Albie.

Make something cool.
- Bye.
- Bye.
(soft music) - Albie, you kept the clay.
What made you change your mind?
- This bag of clay can be anything!
- From a bag of mud to a flower bud.
- From a bunch of clay to a can of hairspray.
- From a bag of muck to a royal duck.
(both laughing) - Hm.
I'm sorry I didn't want it before.
- Oh.
Oh.
I know the clay wasn't the prize you expected.
- Uh-uh.
- But the reason I'm excited you won this is because it means you and I can make something together.
Even if it was just a bag of mud.
It will be our bag of mud.
(both laughing) - You're my mud bud.
- Oh, you're my mud bud too.
What do you say, Albie?
- Let's make anything!
- Yes.
- Yay!
(upbeat music) - Sometimes you just need your hands to make something out of clay.
I made a key to the city.
(Albie gasping) - How do I make a lady bug?
- Ooh.
I take a piece of clay and roll it in between my hands like this to make a ball.
- Whoa.
- Oh.
- Then I'll use this tool to make polka dots.
- Yeah.
(Albie grunting) Good job, Albie.
(Huggy chattering) - It's a lady bug!
- Wow.
- That looks amazing.
(Albie chuckles) - Thanks for spending time with me today.
You can make anything out of clay.
My raffle prize was the best because I got to play with my friends.
- Albie, check it out.
Huggy Pepper made a giant clay monkey.
- Jooba, scoobie, adooba.
- The clay monkey is scuba diving!
- Ooh, scuba monkey dive a monkey, scuba monkey dive a monkey, water, water, water, splash!
