♪ I use my pail and shovel ♪ ♪ To make statues in the sand.
♪ Yeah!
Hey, Duck, that's a beautiful sand statue.
I didn't know you were such an artist.
Oh, sure.
I'm a regular Picasso.
(chuckles) Uh, what's it a statue of?
A shark!
(giggles and quacks) What?
Who said that?
My good pal... Shark!
(Narrator laughs) Hi, Shark.
I didn't know you were here, too.
(giggles) We tricked you, Mr. Narrator.
We're building all kinds of stuff in the sand.
Like this castle made of sand.
See?
Wouldn't it be fun to play in a castle, Duck?
I'd be just like a king.
(mimicking trumpet) Lower the draw bridge.
Aw, but I'm too big.
I really wanted to play in a castle.
Huh, looks like you got a problem.
Lucky for you, no problem is too big for my... C-A-P... Cap!
Thinking cap.
Whoa, whoa, okay.
Whoa, steady now.
Here comes an idea.
Get it... oh, oh!
Duck, are you okay?
I have an idea.
(quacks) We can build you a bigger castle that you can fit into.
It'll be just like those sand castles but big!
Wow?
No one's ever offered to build me a castle before.
Thank you, Duck!
You're welcome, Shark!
Come on, let's get started.
C-A-S-T-L-E. (sounding out): Ca-stle.
KIDS: Castle!
Oh, wow!
It's perfect!
(yawns) I'm going to sleep in this castle tonight.
(yawns) I better be getting home, too.

(moaning) My very own castle.
I'm the happiest shark in Word World.
(snoring) NARRATOR: Shark settled into his new castle for a good night's sleep.
Until the waves washed away the sand castle.
(humming) Good morning, Shark!
I brought you a little gift for your castle.
(gasps) (snoring) Shark!
Where's your castle?
It's gone!
But it was here when I went to sleep.
Um... it's got to be around here somewhere.
Oh.
(chuckles) (grunts) (mumbling) Oh, goodness!
(panting) (barks) Hi, Dog!
Dog, have you seen Shark's castle?
Huh?
It's gone!
Uh-uh.
(gasps) Do you think somebody took it?
Who would take my castle?
(grunting) Oh.
Well, don't worry, Shark.
We'll build you a bigger castle.
(grunting) So no one can take it.
(barking) Look at the size of those letters.
This is going to be the biggest castle yet!
C-A-S-T-L-E.
KIDS: Castle!
Wow!
It's bigger than the first one!
(giggles) Yes, sirree.
No one's going to be able to take this castle!
(quacks) Dog and I will stay with you tonight to make sure.
Oh, and this plant will spruce up the place.
Hmm?
(barks) All right, you go to sleep, Shark.
If we see anyone try to take your castle, we'll sound the alarm like this... (honking) Okay, Duck.
Good night!
All right, remember, Dog, we're guarding the castle, so no falling asleep.
(barks) We have to stay awake all night to make sure no one takes the castle.
Got that?
(barks) Yeah.
Ooh, that's right, all night.
That's right, all ni... (both snoring) NARRATOR: Later that night, as everyone slept, the ocean waves got closer and closer, and washed away the castle again.
(snoring) (barking) (Duck quacking) Oh, sorry, Duck.
I didn't know you were... (gasps): The castle!
It's gone!
Who took Shark's castle?
SHARK & DUCK: Turtle!
Oh!
Turtle, are you hiding Shark's castle in there?
No.
No one in here but me.
Well, did you see who took my castle?
We built it last night right here on the beach.
On the beach?
Then the waves must have taken it.
DUCK & SHARK: The waves?
Come on, guys, let's go!
But-but-but where in Word World are you going, Shark?
To get my castle back!
The waves took it.
(gasps): Wait for us!
NARRATOR: Shark searched through the ocean for his castle.
While Duck and Dog followed along in the submarine.
Oh, castle!
Where are you?
(gasps): Look, there!
Maybe he's seen your castle.
Hey.
Hey, Crab, have you seen my sand castle?
Sand castle?
There are no sand castles down here.
Are you sure?
It's got to be down here.
Turtle told us that the waves took it into the ocean.
The waves?
Ah, I think I know what happened.
♪ ♪ ♪ The waves crept up onto the beach ♪ ♪ Your castle stood just out of reach ♪ ♪ But then the waves came further and... ♪ Olé!
♪ No castle in the sand... ♪ Oh, let me at that wave guy.
No, Duck, a wave is not a person.
A wave's a thing.
♪ When water moves like one big splash ♪ ♪ It's called a wave ♪ ♪ It makes a crash onto the beach ♪ ♪ And takes a dash of sand ♪ ♪ And brings it to the sea... ♪ Oh, I get it.
♪ See, castles built upon the sand ♪ ♪ Don't get a lot of time to stand ♪ ♪ When waves wash in you understand ♪ ♪ They take your castle in the sand... ♪ So when I'm playing at the beach... ♪ I click my claws like castanets ♪ ♪ And stay away from fishing nets ♪ ♪ And say bye-bye when a wave gets too near ♪ ♪ My castle in the sand... ♪ ALL: Olé!
So, you mean if we build a sand castle every day, then every day, the waves will wash it away, and turn it into sand again?
You got it.

Then I can't have a sand castle on the beach!
I'm so sad!
(crying) (crying) Well, don't cry, Shark.
You'll only make the ocean more salty.
But I can't keep building a new castle every single day!
If you want a castle, why don't you build it where the waves can't get it?

Well, there's plenty of sand right here in the ocean.

Like I said, why don't you just build it right here?

Hey... (whimpering) (laughing) (quacking) (Frog whimpering) (croaking) (whimpering) Look out!

(hooting and quacking) Duck, slow down.
(hooting and quacking) (gasping) Oh, wow!
That was pretty fun, Duck.
With Captain Duck at the wheel, there's nothing to worry about.
Look-Look out!
(both whimpering) (squeaking) Oh, no!
The boat!
(muttering) The thinga-ma-doodle is sinking!
Oh!
I guess we have to play something else for... Hey!
Let's build another boat.
I mean, we still have most of the letters.
"O-A-T." Frog, Frog, can we build another boat?
(whimpers and gasps) Uh-oh!
It's starting to rain.
(croak) Oh, goodie, goodie, goodie, goodie, goodie, goodie, goodie!
I love playing in the rain.
Don't you, Frog?
(quacks) Frog?

Oh, safe and sound.
DUCK: Hey, Frog!

Um... (croak) NARRATOR: Frog, why don't you want to play outside anymore?
(croak) I don't like playing in the rain, Mr. Narrator.

Because I don't like the water.
It makes me feel all wet and slimy and icky.
Well, if you don't like the water, why don't you just ask Duck to come inside and play?

I'm afraid he'll laugh at me.
DUCK: Hey, Frog!
Come back out and play!
Um... but the boat is broken.
I'm just going to stay inside.
Oh!
I wanted to keep playing with Frog!
(gasps) I know.
Frog will come back outside if I fix the boat.
(laughs) Yeah.
♪ Oh, the boat, the boat, I'm going to fix the boat ♪ (quacks) ♪ I'm going to fix the boat so Frog will come and play.
♪ (quacks and laughs) Now, let's see.
I have the "oat" sound, but what letter do I need to make a boat?

Well, might as well try 'em both.

KIDS: Float!
(gasping): Wow!
A parade float.
(quacks) Well, it's not a boat, but when Frog sees this, he's sure to come out and play.

I built a parade float all by myself.

Oh, it sure looks like they're having fun.
NARRATOR: Frog, why don't you just tell Duck the real reason you don't want to go outside?
Hmm, because he'll laugh at me.
NARRATOR: Frog, Duck is your best friend.
He won't laugh at you.
Do you really think so?
NARRATOR: Yes, I do.
Oh, man.
I sure wish Frog was out here playing with us.
Who's Frog?
Hmm?

Oh, well, he's my best friend, but he won't come out and play until I fix the boat I broke.
Ah, you need a boat, you say?
(gasps) I sure do.

(bleating): Of course I can.
I'm an "oat" expert, and the "oat" sound is in a lot of words.
So how about that?
So, to make the b-oat, we just need to add the "buh" sound.
Oh, I get it.
Just sound it out.

(chuckling): Okay, let me try, let me try.
(clearing throat): Uh... B... oat.
Boat!
I need the "buh" sound.
(chewing) Come on, Goat, stop chewing on that old boot.

(quacks) I want to play outside, Duck, I really do, but it's still so... rainy.

You didn't want to play outside because the boat was broken, so I made a new boat.
And you still don't want to come outside?
(sighs) Aw, Duck.
I just don't like playing in the rain.
The water feels kind of icky on my skin.
Are you going to laugh at me?

Why would I laugh?
We all have things we like and things we don't like.
So, if you don't like how the rain feels on your skin, why don't you just wear a "c-oat" coat?
Hey, wait a second.
I could just wear a coat, huh?
(chuckling): Yeah.
Well, I never thought of that.

Oh... but I don't have a coat.
