(gasps) Hey, look, my flag's up.

Oh, that means I got some mail.

Ooh... Look at those beautiful... thingamadoodles.

(gasping): I got to show this to Frog.

(quacks) Hey, Frog, Frog, I want to show you something!

I have to make my bed.

(grumbling) B-E-D.

KIDS: Bed.

Yep, can't leave the house without making the bed.

Of course, I sleep in a nest.

You know, soft, fluffy-- like me.

Beds can be soft and fluffy, too, Duck.

I want to show you something.

(murmuring): Not yet, Duck.

I have to check my mail.

(groans, quacks) (croaks) (chuckling): Hey... my flag's up.

Oh, looks like it's going to be some party.

But, Frog, I want to show you some-- (gasps) Hey, that's just like the thingamadoodle I got.

(laughing): Hoo, doggy.

We both got those thing- amadoodles in the mail.

Why is Dog sending us thingamadoodles?

Those aren't thingamadoodles, Duck.

Those are invitations to Dog's big sleepover party tonight.

A sleepover at Dog's house?

A sleepover means we all sleep over at Dog's house.

(gulps) You mean, we sleep at Dog's house?

Sure.

That's why it's called a sleepover.

B-B-But I never slept anywhere except my nest.

Don't worry, Duck, it'll be fun.

Before we go to bed, we'll play lots of games.

NARRATOR: So Duck returned home to get ready for the sleepover party.

And I suppose I have to bring my soft and fluffy N-E-S-T, nest, to sleep in.

(grunting) NARRATOR: Well, um... Come on.

...actually, Duck, Come... on.

Huh?

(chuckling): Well, I mean, where would I sleep without a nest?

Don't worry, Duck, there will be plenty of soft and fluffy places to sleep at Dog's house.

Duck, are you ready to go?

(sniffs) NARRATOR: Have fun, Duck.

Later that afternoon, the WordFriends gathered for the sleepover.

(chuckling): I win.

NARRATOR: And Duck enjoyed all the fun and games.

(slurps) The WordFriends made popcorn.

(barks) KIDS: Popcorn.

Snack time!

(laughs) Mmm.

(squeals) Oh, soo-weet.

(all laughing) NARRATOR: They played musical chairs.

KIDS: Chair.

(all making noise) (Duck quacks) Did I win?

(all laughing) (Duck blubbering) What's next?

(Duck chattering excitedly, all talking and laughing) NARRATOR: Duck's first sleepover was turning out to be lots of fun, but he was still worried about where he would sleep.

Um, it's getting dark out, guys.

(chuckles nervously) Is it... (gulp)... almost time to go to sleep?

Not yet, Duck.

Ha, ha, to the letter pit.

(all chattering excitedly) Come on in, Duck.

(Dog barks) I've got a "D." Uh, guys, uh, what exactly are you doing?

We're getting the letters to build our beds.

FROG: Come on, let's build it.

(Dog barks) ALL: B... E... D. KIDS: Bed.

(all gasp, Dog barks) (pants) Come on, Duck, let's make your bed.

But, Frog, I sleep in a soft and fluffy nest.

I guess I can't sleep over after all.

(quacks) Oh, no, you can't leave now.

Don't say that, Duck, we want you to stay.

Hey, I've got it.

Maybe we could build you a nest right here.

A nest here at the sleepover?

(chuckling): Sure, why not?

(smacks lips) N-E-S-T.

KIDS: Nest.

Oh, thank you, guys.

Now I'm ready to go to sleep.

First it's time to bounce.

Whee!

(barking) Uh, what's going on?

We're bouncing.

Come on, Duck, bounce with us.

(groans) (laughing) Oh... (quack).

Hey, nothing's happening.

Well, I guess that's the thing about a nest.

It's soft and it's fluffy, but it's not so bouncy.

(quacks) Frog, my nest won't bounce.

Oh, it sure would be nice to have a place to sleep that was soft and bouncy.

(laughing) That's exactly what beds are.

Soft and bouncy.

Well, I've never slept in a bed before but maybe I could give it a try.

It does look kind of fun.

Guys, is it too late for me to have a bed, too?

And now, for my first magic trick, I will pull a rabbit out of my hat.

NARRATOR: Uh, Sheep... aren't you forgetting something?

Uh, no.

I don't think so.

NARRATOR: Well, how are you going to pull a rabbit out of your hat when you don't have a hat?

Oh, uh, oh.

Well, no problem.

I'll just make one.

All I need are letters.

The letters H-A-T. (sounding out): H... A... T. KIDS: Hat!

That's right!

Hat.

And it's just the kind of hat magicians wear.

Or so I've heard.

Now, to pull that rabbit out of my hat.

Doo-ba-lee-doo.

Doo-ba-lee-dope.

Out comes a rabbit!

I do really hope.

(chortles ta-dah) Dog!

You're not a rabbit.

(chuckles) But it's nice to see you anyway, Dog.

(laughs) Oh, Dog.

(giggles) (barks) NARRATOR: Just then a big gust of wind blew Sheep's hat up, up and away.

Oh, no, my hat!

NARRATOR: The wind was very strong and the hat flew very fast.

It was off and heading for...

Pig's barn!

(belly grumbles) Ooh, something's telling me it's time for lunch.

(chuckling): All right there, belly.

Stop with all this jiggling and giggling and tell me what you'd like to eat.

NARRATOR: How about a salad?

(Pig screams) Who said that?

NARRATOR: I did.

Oh, Mr. Narrator, you startled me.

(chuckling): I thought my tummy was talking to me.

But a salad does sound like a good idea.

Hmm.

I've got my ingredients, a bowl, my chef's hat... (gasps): My chef's hat?

Where is it?

No.

No, it's not there.

Was, was it over... No, that's not it.

But, hmm... Was, was it over, was...

I can't cook without my chef's hat!

NARRATOR: Just then... Sheep's hat came a knocking.

Who's that?

Hey!

It's the letters H-A-T. (humming) (giggles) (sounding out): H... A... T. KIDS: Hat!

(chuckling): That's right!

NARRATOR: Hmm, that's strange.

Eh, what's strange?

NARRATOR: That's not a magician's hat.

That's a chef's hat.

(chuckling): Yep!

For none other than Chef Pig!

(giggles) Today's my lucky day.

Time to get cooking.

KIDS: Salad!

Ha-ha, you said it.

Salad, hmm.

Mmm.

(grunts and snorts) So good, so good.

(wind blowing) Oh, no!

My hat!

It's getting away!

(grunts) Oof!

(barking) NARRATOR: But the hat was too fast for them.

The wind kept blowing and the hat kept flying all the way to Bear's cave.

Who wants a nice, delicious cup of lemonade?

(Pig panting) Hat!

(panting) My hat!

(all screaming) Oh, my.

NARRATOR: But the wind kept blowing the hat through Word World.

♪ Oh, what a lucky Duck am I ♪ ♪ Just watching a breezy day blow by ♪ (thuds) Huh?

♪ I sure do not know why ♪ ♪ But something just fell from the sky.

♪ (gasps) The sky is falling (quacks)!

(quacking) Huh?

I guess the sky isn't falling.

What's with these three, big thingamadoodles in my nest?

What's with Duck?

I think he's finally quacked up.

(both laughing) Hey, these aren't thingamadoodles, they're letters.

Uh, H-A-T.

KIDS: Hat!

Looky there.

Hat (chuckles).

A silly hat, that's what it is.

(quacks) Whoo-hoo!

Hmm?

Oh.

Whoa!

I'm a helicopter.

(laughs): Huh?

(wind blowing) Help!

(thuds) Oh, my hat!

NARRATOR: Oh, no!

The hat was on the move again.

A hat that was once a magician's hat, then a chef's hat, was now, well, a silly hat.

BOTH: My hat!

Oh, let go, Duck!

I need my chef's hat back.

What are you quacking about?

This is my silly hat.

No, no, no!

It's my hat!

No, it's my hat!

(both grunting) Um...

Uh, I don't mean to interrupt, but, uh... actually, it's my hat, you see.

Huh?

Well, here.

I'll show you.

If you don't mind.

(sounding out letters) KIDS: Hat!

Yes, sirree!

Hat!

See?

It's my magician's hat.

It's part of my magic act.

(gulps): Magic?

But-- now, hold on one minute, see.

Uh, hmm.

If it was a chef's hat for Pig and a silly hat for me, then... then Sheep must be right.

(gasping): It's a magic hat.

(quacks) PIG & DUCK: Whoa.

Um, well, uh, you can use this hat to do magic tricks, but it's not a magic hat.

It's just a regular, old hat I put together out of the letters "H," "A" and "T." But, Sheep, when you put the letters together, it makes any kind of hat you want.

I mean, that sounds like magic to me.

Yes, uh, but if I may.

It's not the hat that's magic.

It's the word "hat."

DUCK, DOG & PIG: Huh?

That's the amazing, magical thing about words.

They can mean different things to different people.

Like the word "hat."

To you, it's a chef's hat.

And to you, Duck, it's, well... what exactly is your hat, Duck?

Oh, it's sort of a, uh... Well, it's kind of a...

It's... it's probably easier just to show you.

What a great idea!

In fact, why don't you both show me your special hat.
