- And now all you can feel, do or think is the opposite of that word?
- Then call us.
I'm Sly.
- And I'm Gabby.
We're word detectives and we solve, - [Both] Word mysteries.
- Together, we run the Wordsville Online Detective Agency.
- We'll find your missing word stat.
- Not to mention, briskly.
- And swiftly.
- Yeah, we're really good with words.
- [Both] Wordsville!
- Hey, Gabby.
- Perfect timing, Sly.
What's at the mountain of snacks?
- It's my breakfast.
- Hang on.
[video game beeping] I'm on a really hard level.
- Have you been playing all morning?
- Yeah, I guess I've been on a, - Cinnamon roll?
Any missed calls?
- Not sure.
- You haven't checked yet?
Gabby, your gaming and my snacking are in overdrive.
Think this is a word mystery?
- Hold that thought.
[video game beeping] [Gabby groaning] - Sorry, Gabby.
It's probably a word mystery.
I'll answer Athlete Glory.
- Word detectives, my timer's been taken.
This one.
- [Sly] Your timer has the word moderation on it.
- Yes, and ever since it went missing, I've been stuck in a loop.
Can you help?
- It says here, moderation means keeping your actions, feelings and habits within reasonable limits.
- Like only having one snack instead of a hundred.
- Or only playing video games for 30 minutes, not three hours.
- Or resting between exercises.
My timer reminds me of my favorite saying, moderation in all things.
- This is definitely a word mystery.
- Athlete Glory, tell us what happened and I'll show us, while I snack.
- [Glory] I was exercising when Artist Clay came to the gym to repaint the basketball court lines.
I was supposed to help him, but it wasn't time for a rest yet, so he started without me.
Then Vet Wilder came in to drop off his dog Zippy for me to pet sit.
The next thing I knew, Vet Wilder, Artist Clay and my timer were gone.
Zippy was napping, and I was still exercising.
[video game beeping] - Gabby, were you just play your video game again?
- You were snacking.
Anyway, I was listening.
- Athlete Glory, can you show us the scene of the mystery?
- I'll try.
This is where I last saw my moderation timer.
[camera beeping] - Hold still.
Got it.
[camera clicking] We'll be in touch.
- Please hurry.
- Sly, it's time for our case notes.
[mouse clicking] We know what happened.
Someone took Athlete Glory's moderation timer.
- And now everyone in Wordsville is overdoing something.
- We know where, the gym, and we know that it happened when she was busy exercising.
- [Sly] Our suspects are Artist Clay and Vet Wilder.
- Looking at the clues will help us figure out who did it, how and why.
- The paint trail leads out the door.
Was Artist Clay in a rush to leave?
- Let's call him and find out.
[phone ringing] - Word detectives.
You're disrupting, my creative flow.
[hammer knocking] - We'll keep it quick.
Why did you go visit Athlete Glory today?
- I was hard at work thinking about my next great art project when she called to remind me I had made a commitment to help her repaint the lines on the basketball courts.
- Taking a break from work to help a friend is a good use of moderation.
- That's what Athlete Glory said.
She also said, "Moderation in all things and that taking a break from thinking about my art might inspire me."
So I went to the gym.
- What happened you you got there?
- Athlete Glory was supposed to help me paint, but she just kept exercising.
She said she'd stop when her timer went off.
- Did that annoy you?
- It did.
So I started painting without her.
Then, suddenly, inspiration struck.
I had to get back to my studio right away so I could get to work on, this.
Vet Wilder's dog Zippy inspired my sculpture.
Isn't he magnificent?
- Totally.
So do you know how the paw prints got all over the floor?
- That was Zippy.
Vet Wilder saw it too.
Now, no more disruptions.
- He was annoyed Athlete Glory didn't use moderation to stop exercising.
- Suspicious.
- So suspicious I could use another snack.
- Not if I can't take a gaming break.
Let's see what Vet Wilder says.
[phone ringing] - [Both] Vet Wilder!
- Hello?
Vet Wilder, talk to us.
- Vet Wilder.
- Oh.
Hi.
Sorry, word detectives.
This show really sucks me in.
I can't stop watching.
What's up?
- Official word mystery business.
Why did you go to the gym today?
- I needed a day off, so I closed my vet clinic and asked all my people friends to pet sit all my animal friends.
I dropped my dog Zippy off with Athlete Glory at the gym.
- Did anything strange happened there?
- Not really.
I told her I was gonna watch all the episodes of my favorite TV show, and she said I should work out with her first and told me, "Moderation in all things," but I didn't want to work out.
I wanted to watch TV all day.
- Did you see Zippy run through the paint?
- Yeah, I'll clean the floor when I'm done watching seasons one through six.
Gotta go.
[computer beeping] - What did we learn from our suspects?
- That Artist Clay did practice moderation by taking a break from working on his art.
- [Sly] Hmm.
Taking a break from work is what Vet Wilder wanted to do too.
- You're right.
That's why he asked his people friends to take care of his pet friends.
- But watching TV all day is not using moderation.
- And he wouldn't let anything get in the way of his TV time.
- He's not working out or cleaning up Zippy's paw prints.
- Vet Wilder must really need a day off.
[Sly gasps] So much so that he's not acting like himself.
- We cracked it.
Let's show everyone else how this case went down.
[phone ringing] Now presenting the word mystery animated reenactment of the case of the moderation mishap.
- Athlete Glory, I stopped working so I can help you paint the lines on the basketball court.
- I'll help when my moderation timer goes off.
That's when I'll rest.
- I guess I'll just do it myself.
- Thanks for dog sitting Zippy for me, Athlete Glory.
I'm going to go relax and watch TV all day.
- But Vet Wilder, moderation in all things is best.
You should exercise first.
- I don't wanna do anything in moderation today.
I wanna watch TV all day, so I'll take this.
Zippy, I'll clean you up now, but the floor has to wait.
I need to start watching my show already.
- Zippy, you are an inspiration.
[mysterious music] - Vet Wilder's who did it.
- Vet Wilder?
I can't believe it.
- You figured it out.
- He grabbed the timer when Athlete Glory was exercising and Artist Clay was painting.
- That's how he did it.
- I admit it.
I took the moderation timer because I wanted to rest on my day off.
What I didn't wanna do was limit how much TV I watched.
I wanted to watch it all day long.
- I get it.
You needed a break.
I was only trying to keep you from overdoing your TV time.
Nonstop TV isn't great.
Neither is nonstop exercise.
I'm so tired.
- [groans] You're right.
My eyes hurt from watching too much TV.
I shouldn't have taken your timer, Athlete Glory.
I'll bring it back.
[phone ringing] - I'm so glad to have my moderation timer back, so I can finally take a rest.
I think I'm gonna join my friend Zippy for a nap.
[dog barking] - Oh, Zippy's awake.
I'll come get him.
He's my dog after all.
You deserve a rest, Athlete Glory.
- You both do.
What if I watch Zippy?
Maybe he'll gimme more sculpture ideas.
Who knew taking a break from work can be so inspirational?
[Glory yawns] - Thanks, word detectives.
- Case closed.
We took a break from video games and snacks, which means?
- I'll bring one snack for each of us.
- And we'll play video games for a few levels.
Then maybe we can go to the park.
- You're right.
Moderation is all things, Gabby.
