Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship- Ooh, my daughter has been working on letter sounds and writing, but we practice with more than just pencil and paper.
- Ss, repeat.
We sit down and write in sand.
First, I say the letter sound.
Watch me, uh.
Then my daughter repeats the sound with the correct letter.
- U says uh.
- Great.
She'll also write the letter in the sand at the same time.
This is called multisensory learning.
She uses more than one of her senses to review the letter sounds, which helps her remember them.
Great job shake up for me.
Gu, repeat.
- Gu.
- Once she learns this, we'll start blending those sounds to make words.
This activity keeps my daughter engaged and it's an important step on our road to literacy.
