To provide jobs during the Depression and to build the nation's first national park, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt hired 6,500 "boys" from Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania as part of the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) to build Shenandoah National Park & Skyline Drive. Some of the "boys" recall their experiences in the 1930s CCC camps and how they look on their accomplishments with pride
