2018 Young Hero Denver Benjamin from Cherokee, AL

Denver Benjamin was diagnosed with lupus in 8th grade. In her sophomore year of high school, she suffered a debilitating stroke. Denver was determined to regain her abilities and worked long and hard to overcome its lasting effects of her stroke. Although she continues to live with lupus, she is the captain of the cheerleading squad and president of the student council.
