The Things are the smallest of all of us.
THINGS: Uh-huh!
And they fell right through the holes in the Stupendous Strainer floor.
But I didn't fall through!

(Gasping) Cat!
I think we're like sand, and you're like my bead!
I'm like a bead?
I don't get it.
Come on, you'll see!
So, are you gonna play tennis or strain spaghetti?
(Sally giggling) Neither, Cat.
We need something with holes in it, just like the Whole Lotta Funhouse, but the holes have to be big enough to let the grains of sand through, and small enough to stop my bead from falling through.
And that's how you're gonna find it in the sand.
Right!
Now, this bead is the same size as the one I lost.
We can use it to test if it gets caught by the strainer or the tennis racket.

NICK: Nothing yet!
Don't give up.

The strainer worked!
BOTH: We did it!
You certainly did.
Now, I can finish my friendship bracelet.
There!
Here you go, Cat.
