Paul, TX Agree

... not having all the facts ...

September 16,2003

I get the sense that penetrating investigative reporting are troubling to people who have the ability to influence what is seen and heard in the media. The American people are being influenced and making decisions while not having all the facts made available to them through current sources.

Dave, NY Agree

... ill ramifications ...

September 16,2003

More than homogenizing the news, allowing news to become a for-profit commodity has created pressures and ill ramifications at large. Those serving the public interest should not allow their work to become a self-serving, market oriented industry. The lure is lucrative, but the addiction is destructive.

Frederick, NY Strongly Agree

... it's a conspiracy. ...

September 16,2003

I agree, the media is interested in protecting wrong doing in the highest levels of government and money and specially power, it's unfortunately a conspiracy.

Harrision, NJ Strongly Agree

... surely less diversity! ...

September 12,2003

Less competition, I don't know but surely less diversity! Stories of small towns being unaware of local disasters because all of their radio stations are owned and operated by Clear Channel are very scary to me. Local news should be just as important as the latest top 40 hit.

Mark, VA Agree

... same story with the same liberal bias. ...

September 12,2003

Sure there are more places to get news but they are all telling the same story with the same liberal bias.

Bonnie, FL Undecided

... a handful of people calling the shots ...

September 12,2003

On the one hand I feel like I have a lot of options when I'm looking for news -- cable, internet, etc.-- but when I learn they are all owned by the same company it makes me realize there is just a handful of people calling the shots in this country.

Cheri, SC Disagree

... there are tons of choices ...

September 12,2003

I think there are tons of choices for news now. I can get different opinions on the radio, on tv, in the newspaper and then am free to make my own choices about what to believe.

Tony, IA Agree

... need to know what's happening ...

September 11,2003

I think the idea of national companies running local news stations is scary. What happens when we really need the news that's going on in our town? I think American's should have an idea of the nation and the world but also need to know what's happening in their own backyards!

Edward, WA Disagree

... there are plenty of voices out there. ...

September 11,2003

I think there are still plenty of voices out there. It is up to consumers to find the alternative media and give them a chance once in a while. Sure if you only listen to what the networks are saying they all sound very much alike.

Carl, DC Disagree

... only yelling from two sides ...

September 11,2003

All the news looks exactly the same! There are no substantive discussions only yelling from two sides saying the same old thing.
