New Blogger On The Blog: I Used to Love B.I.O.

Liz Burr by Liz Burr     Department: Correlations

Hello there, my name is Liz and I am the newest blogger on Correlations. A little known secret is, I am the editor for this blog, so I have been here since the beginning--but behind the scenes like those little mice that keep the wheels turning. Today, I finally come out as a regular blogger, and I'm pretty excited!

Working with the Correlations bloggers has been an awesome experience thus far. I greatly respect the scientists on the blog, and the folks from the TV side are pretty cool. I will be blogging a mix of topics surrounding the show/behind the scenes, as well as my own interests in science and technology. I am not a scientist, but once upon a time I wanted to be one. I started my career as a Biology major at MIT. I did a little research in a chemical engineering lab, working with a (then) post-doc for a few years, but realized that research was not for me. So, I switched majors, started blogging, and found a new passion: the Internet. You can read more about me on my bio page here.

Anyway, I am currently in sunny North Carolina, (it is sunny and freezing right now, but I heard it is going to SNOW tomorrow!) covering the Science Blogging Conference. WIRED SCIENCE  is a sponsor for the conference, and two of our  esteemed Correlations bloggers will be speaking here. I hope to get to know more people within the science blogging community, and also tell you all about my time here. Thanks for reading!

Liz,
Came by to say congratulations. You're doing a great job. I started reading Wired when it first hit the newstands and haven't stop yet. It's one of my top 5 mags and this part of Wired Science, will make it even better...

Kudos,
Doug

Congrats! I'm so bookmarking you right now. I've always seen the WIRED SCIENCE mags but never picked one up. I'll be checking it out at the bookstore tonight!

Sunny & Cold? Sounds like NY!

Welcome to the front lines! :D

My new favorite friend and colleague has become my new favorite blogger! Welcome, Ms. Liz. Come home soon and let's toast your inaugural Correlations post.

Welcome Liz! Thanks for making everything fit so well together on the site...

Looking forward to your posts.

Freezing!? It was downright toasty in NC. Back in Iowa now and it's 0 degrees with a foot and a half of snow on the ground. You LA folks are so spoiled... :)

It was good to see you again over the weekend, and I'm also looking forward to seeing what else you have to say here. Welcome to the public side!

Thanks everybody for the welcome wagon!

Welcome Liz! So happy we share this corner of the blogosphere!

Of course, those on the inside know you've really been here with us all along ;)
