I first learned about the Chimpanzees, through a movie, Project X. Dumb me, I thought it was over.
I come upon a very old video with Gloria Grow,& Nancy Meagan. I cried, it turned my heart inside out, as I listened to the stories about the Chimpanzees they saved.
Chimpanzees have always been my favorite....
As I read, and studied about Chimpanzees in research, I loved them even more.
These women changed my life, I spend all my spare time writing letters to my state respresentatives, and other members in Congress. They made the laws about Chimpanzees, and they are the only ones that can change the laws. If everyone would let them know how they feel about Chimpanzees in research, it wouldn't be long before they ALL the Chimpanzees in the USA were in sanctuaries.....
Please go to "Project R&R", they have petitions that need to be signed, and lots of info how you can help the Great Apes.....

I was so touched and enlightened by this presentation, but especially by the people righting these wrongs, that my wife and I decided donate money to this cause in lieu of exchanging Christmas gifts. We have so much, but these unfortunate chimps have so much need. Thanks so very much to all the great, caring people who made this compassion possible.

I was crying watching this, I never realized they were been used by the biomedical community to this extent, it is sickening, and at same time it is wonderfull to know there are people like you Gloria. Well done! You have inspired me so much!

Watching this documentary has really changed my perspective and inspired me to make a difference as people like Gloria have done. I am horrified by how cruel some "civilized" humans, who should in fact be the ones kept in cages, can be. People like
Gloria provide salvation for those people as well as the chimps. I could go on & on but I just wanted to say thank you to PBS for bringing awareness to this issue & inspiring me to get involved & offer my support in any way I can!

I was so moved by your film on the chimpanzees. You did a beautiful job on the filming and showing a little about each chimp.I just cant believe that up until 2004 that that type of treatment was still being used on the chimps.thank goodness for the women who stepped up to the plate and help rescued the chimps and have now gave them a wonderful place to live the rest of their lives.thank you for your kindness.
