ARLINGTON, VA; AUGUST 22, 2022—PBS has named Leili Boroumand to serve as Vice President of Business Development. In this role, Boroumand will play a vital role in expanding PBS’s digital footprint within the ever-changing media distribution marketplace. She will drive strategic planning and execution for the digital distribution of PBS and PBS KIDS content, and lead revenue-generating initiatives—such as third-party monetization and sponsorship opportunities. She will join the team on August 29 and report to Ira Rubenstein, PBS Chief Digital and Marketing Officer.
Boroumand has over 15 years of business development experience working with iconic brands to drive their digital transformation at the intersection of technology and media. She comes to PBS from Amazon, where she held a range of senior business development roles, including at Audible, where she was responsible for identifying strategic partnerships. Before Amazon, Boroumand led third-party digital distribution initiatives at The Washington Post. She launched The Post’s first digital distribution partnerships with Apple News, Facebook Instant Articles, and Snapchat Discover.
"We're thrilled to welcome Leili to PBS. Her background in business development, paired with her extensive experience managing digital distribution partnerships, makes her a valuable addition to our team,” said Rubenstein. “Leili’s leadership, critical thinking, and proven ability to identify and launch new initiatives will be a tremendous asset to PBS as we look to accelerate our content distribution strategy.”
“I am honored and excited to join PBS during such a dynamic time in the digital media landscape. I look forward to leveraging my experience to support PBS’s mission of delivering programming and services of the highest quality to viewers on the platforms they value most,” said Boroumand.
Prior to Amazon and The Washington Post, Leili led business development for Rosetta Stone’s Consumer Business, and some of her most notable partnerships included Disney’s “It’s A Small World” franchise and Microsoft’s Xbox. She has also held previous strategic partnership and business development roles at Groupon and AOL. Leili has a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Marketing from North Carolina State University.
