ARLINGTON, VA; Sept. 8, 2022 – PBS honors the legacy of Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, who died today at the age of 96, in a new PBS  NEWSHOUR special, Queen Elizabeth: A Royal Life,” premiering tonight from 8-9 p.m. ET (check local listings) on PBS, PBS.org and the PBS Video app. The special explores Queen Elizabeth’s life, legacy, and her influence within the royal family, across the United Kingdom and around the world. 

 

PBS  NEWSHOUR will continue to provide coverage of the queen’s death and her son Charles’s ascension to the throne on its daily and weekend broadcasts.

 

On tonight’s AMANPOUR AND COMPANY, airing on PBS, PBS.org and the PBS Video app (check local listings), Poppy Harlow anchors a special report on Queen Elizabeth’s extraordinary life, with commentary from historian Simon Schama; Kim Darroch, former UK ambassador to the United States; and Alistair Burt, former UK member of Parliament.

 

A curated collection of streaming titles celebrating the beloved monarch, “Honoring Queen Elizabeth,” including IN THEIR OWN WORDS: “Queen Elizabeth II,” THE QUEEN AT WAR, THE QUEEN AND THE COUP and THE QUEEN’s GARDEN, is available on PBS.org and the PBS Video app. The playlist will continue to be updated as newer content, including PBS NEWSHOUR “Queen Elizabeth: A Royal Life,” becomes available to stream. The PBS Video app is available on iOS, Android, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Samsung Smart TV, Chromecast and VIZIO.
