ARLINGTON, VA; October 8, 2025 — Today, PBS President and CEO Paula Kerger announced the election of three leaders in public media, incumbent Dolores Fernandez Alonso, President and CEO of South Florida PBS; Becky Magura, President and CEO of Nashville PBS; and Luis Patiño, President and CEO of Austin PBS; to serve three-year terms as Professional Directors on the PBS Board of Directors.
“The PBS Board of Directors is critical to helping PBS provide the essential programming and services the American people expect from public television,” said Kerger. “We welcome these Directors to the board. Their range of experience will benefit the whole system and help PBS support stations as they meet the needs of their communities.”
The 27-person PBS Board includes both Professional Directors, who are station leaders elected by PBS member stations, and General Directors, who are lay members elected by the Board. The Board provides strategic guidance and oversight to PBS, ensuring that the organization continues to deliver high-quality, educational, and inspiring programming to more than 336 member stations and their local viewers.

Luis Patiño, President & CEO, Austin PBS
Luis Patiño leads Austin PBS, serving one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the country. Patiño has prioritized the implementation of a five-year strategic plan by which the station is focused on three main pillars: Content, Reach and Revenue. Content development that serves the local community, reaching new audiences on all platforms in addition to growing and diversifying the organizations revenue portfolio.
