Arlington, VA; February 9, 2022— PBS was recognized with four Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Awards, which represent the very best in audio and video reporting.
PBS continues to serve as the gold standard for American journalism and documentary filmmaking. As such, PBS received more wins than any other media organization, further solidifying its role as a trusted destination for long-form, investigative journalism and documentaries.
“Philly D.A.,” which was presented by INDEPENDENT LENS and follows the first term of District Attorney Larry Krasner, won a silver baton and was praised by the judges as a “groundbreaking documentary series.”
POV received a silver baton for “Softie,” which examines the corrupt political system in Kenya and Boniface Mwangi’s (nicknamed ‘Softie’) fight for change.
POV also won for “Through the Night,” which offers an intimate look into the lives of three working mothers whose lives intersect at a 24-hour daycare center in New Rochelle, New York.
Lastly, a silver baton was awarded to “Waste Land,” produced by FRONTLINE in conjunction with NPR and Planet Money, which exposes the truth behindrecycling plastics.
