Arlington, VA; September 8, 2026 — PBS’s ANTIQUES ROADSHOW and INDEPENDENT LENS took home Emmy® Awards during Night One of the 78th Emmy Awards, which kicked off the three-night celebration recognizing outstanding artistic and technical achievement in television.
After more than two decades and 24 Emmy nominations, ANTIQUES ROADSHOW won its first Emmy in 2026, taking home the award for Outstanding Structured Reality Program. INDEPENDENT LENS’ The Librarians also took home an Emmy award for Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking.
The Academy noted that this year’s nominations reflect the undiminished creative range and vitality of television programming, celebrating both emerging talent and beloved creative voices shaping the future of the industry.
For PBS, the five nominations received this year affirm the enduring power of public media storytelling and its lasting influence across the television landscape. The nominated programs are available to stream now on PBS.org and the PBS app.
The 78th Emmy Awards are being presented over three nights. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards were held Saturday, September 5, and Sunday, September 6, and will air as a single broadcast on FXX on Saturday, September 12, at 8 p.m. ET, with the ceremony available to stream on Hulu the following day.
The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards will air live on NBC on Monday, September 14, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT from the Peacock Theater at L.A. Live in Los Angeles and will stream live on Peacock.
