ARLINGTON, VA; March 9, 2022— The International Documentary Association announced the 37th Annual IDA Documentary Awards winners on Friday, March 4, 2022. PBS led with five wins, proving PBS continues to promote the best non-fiction films and programs.
INDEPENDENT LENS won its fifth Best Curated Series award.
POV won three IDA awards. Including “North by Current” for Best Writing and “A Broken House” for Best Short Film. POV Shorts and Film Academy Baden-Württemberg short film “Seahorse” won the David L. Wolper Student Documentary Award, which recognizes exceptional achievement in non-fiction film and video production at the university level.
The Oscar nominated documentary “Writing with Fire,” coming to INDEPENDENT LENS Monday, March 28, 2022, 10:00 – 11:00 p.m. ET, received IDA’s Courage Under Fire Award.
