Plan a Hee-hugga Mugga Day Together

When Donkey Hodie and Daniel Tiger meet for the first time, they have a tigertastic,
hee-hawesome day exploring Someplace Else together.
"Looking for fun things to do when a friend comes over?" We've got you covered with some fun and easy games and activities they can play together!
1 Let's Color
Coloring with a friend is always a grr-ific way to spend time together. Grab some crayons, markers, or colored pencils and print out this Donkey Hodie coloring pageand these Daniel Tiger coloring pages. Add some tunes to the mix by playing songs from “Donkey Hodie” or “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood,” so the kids can sing along while they color!
2 Play Games
Looking for a game kids can play together? These fun games encourage connection, are easy to play, and only need a few simple items you probably already have at home: Tater Toss, Donkey Hodie Says, or Acorn Ball.

3 Use Your Imagination
Do you have some empty cardboard boxes lying around? With a little imagination, items from your recycling bin can become rocket ships, tunnels, trains, or whatever else your crew can dream up! Encourage pretend play by letting children use everyday objects as props for big adventures. Try these tips and ideas to spark imagination at home.
4 Celebrate Friendship
Young children are learning what it means to be friends. Support their budding friendships by helping them make a book about friends or make friendship bracelets to share with one another.

5 Make Snacks
When it’s time for a snack break, turn it into part of the fun! Try making something yummy together like Masked Veggies, Purple Party Punch, or Striped Yogurt Parfaits. Looking for something quick and pre-made? Mom Tiger’s Banana Bread or Mozie-mazing Cookies are always a hit!

6 Continue the Fun
To keep the fun going, write down or draw activities and snack ideas, like the ones shared here, on strips of paper. Add your own, and invite your child and their friend to come up with some, too! Place all the strips in a basket or container, and let the kids take turns picking one. Do the activity on the paper, then pick another one when they’re ready for what’s next. It’s a simple way to keep the day full of surprises – and help your child and their friend have a hee-hugga mugga day together!
